That’s right folks. Trump shill with a law degree teed off on Judge Engoron last month. How DARE he suggest the (ahem) right, honorable Trump CFO Alan Weisselberg was less than: You know, like totally open and TRUTHFUL in Trump’s New York state fraud trial! Listen judge and the American public she shouted in a letter to the judge, Weisselberg is the epitome of Honesty! More than George Washington who couldn’t like to his day about the cherry tree. More honest than Honest Abe Lincoln even. He’d never have DREAMED of lying in your courtroom while he was on the witness stand! Except Weisslberg has just pled guilty to doing exactly that, and it’s going to cost him another five months in jail. And if he’s less than cooperative moving forward his time behind bars will be measured in years.
That’s right folks, if you take a look at this MeidasTouch Network article Weisselberg has in fact entered a plea of guilty to committing perjury. Let’s take a look at recent events, starting with that Feb. 7 letter Habba sent to Judge Engoron. It was in response to an email the judge had sent to both the prosecutors and Trump’s lawyers about a New York Times article talking about Weisselberg being in negotiations over a plea deal for perjury related to his testimony in the case. The judge wanted to know if either side was aware of any such negotiations, and if so to inform him as it could factor into his decision.
Habba (of course) refused to answer (Hmmmm) claiming she’d “conferred with my ethics counsel and have been advised that I am constrained by my professional ethical obligations from providing any further detail.” Done laughing over the thought of Habba having an “ethics counsel?” That’s okay. It took me a while too. And to wipe away the tears from laughing so hard. But let’s move on:
Habba went on to say that nothing in a media story should affect Weisselberg’s credibility as a witness. She dismissed the NY Times story as a “speculative news account” and said the fact that Engoron would even call into question his credibility based on the article “is simply improper and calls into question the impartiality of the Court … The apparent willingness to not just review but even consider reliance on unsubstantiated news reports in rendering its decision raises significant concerns.”
Look, I’m often critical of the NYT but that’s mostly on its editorial stuff or “reporting” stuff (Hillary’s emails for example) that is factual but blown all the hell out of proportion which is itself a form of offering editorializing. However, on stuff like this they have a long history of being right about something when they go to press. On something like this they’re a hundred times more believable that Habba’s boss, the one and only Trump who lies as easily as he breathes. Sure enough, less than a month after Habba’s faux (or maybe real) outrage and “significant concerns:
Except the Times article was 100% accurate, Engoron was right to make the inquiry, and Habba is once again made to look like a fool who presents and relies on perjured testimony to make her case. Like so many of Trump’s lawyers before her, this saga will not end well for her.
Remember a while back when Habba commented she’d rather be pretty than smart because you can’t fake being pretty? If I were someone who twitters and hadn’t yet gotten blocked from Habba’s account I’d remind her of her comment, and note it’s awfully hard to look pretty with egg all over your face!
Well, the fact is that less than a month after Habba’s quasi legal outburst ripping on Judge Engoron Alan Weisselberg has in fact pled guilty to perjury. Habba looks stupid. Again. However, what should I think be something to keep an eye on is other legal trouble Trump is in these days. While Weisselberg currently only has to do another five months behind bars if he doesn’t cooperate in other cases, like say the Manhattan criminal trial of Trump he’s looking at a couple of years in prison! Trump’s all bent because he LOST to Nikki Haley in DC yesterday. He didn’t just lose but got trounced. His ego simply can’t take that kind of thing.
In the grand scheme of things it won’t stop him collecting enough delegates in tomorrow’s Super Tuesday round of primaries to clinch the nomination. So one would figure those around him were distracting him by talking that up with him. This morning all kinds of grand plans were being floated to him about the celebrations they’d have tomorrow night, and how it would force the RNC to give into his demands later in the week. Now? Trump’s thoughts have got to be thinking the same question over and over: Will Weisselberg finally have had enough and turn into another Michael Cohen? That would be far worse for Trump because if there’s one person who not only knows but remembers where all the proverbial Trump Org bodies are buried its Alan Weisselberg.
Trump isn’t thinking about his win at SCOTUS or even that while they are letting him stay on the ballot they refused to “exonerate” him as an insurrectionist. Nor is he savoring a big night tomorrow night. I’m betting he’s filling one set of Depends after another over the prospect of Alan Weisselberg FINALLY sitting down for weeks of interviews with local, state and federal prosecutors and spilling all the accounting beans. And worst of all helping the two financial monitors judge Engoron has installed at the Trump Org to walk them through deciphering the maze of financial hide & seek that’s kept that family business afloat all this time.
However right now what matters most is that Manhattan DA’s criminal case has likely gotten a boost. I don’t know how much Bragg intended to rely on Weisselberg given his attempts to dance along the edge of the legal razor blade. To tell just enough to minimize his own legal (and financial) exposure but still stay loyal to Trump. Or maybe the memory of Trump’s father Fred who is after all the one who brought him on board. But I’d be surprised if we don’t see Weisselberg on the stand burying Trump. He and Michael Cohen could make for a one-two punch that will bring Howard Cosell out of the grave repeatedly exclaiming “Down Goes Frazier Trump! Down Goes Frazier Trump! Down Goes Frazier Trump! Stay tuned.
This silly wench will not be happy until she has most judges in the country (and all those worthy of the title) writing her off as an incompetent. She is an extraordinary fool.
About her comment on being pretty: whether a person is male or female, I consider the spirit and personality inside the person as attractive or not. There is nothing about her personality that I would consider attractive. I don’t know how men would consider her attractiveness, but in my opinion there is nothing pretty about her.
She would only be attractive with a rubber ball strapped to her mouth so I wouldn’t be subject to her blathering. Otherwise…not so much…more like the plastic japanese food made to look good but isn’t real food. Only a real woman is attractive not a shallow fake one.
I agree and have said so in the past. There are people who objectively speaking have nice facial features and fit, even “hot” bodies who are as attractive and/or desirable as a mop on a stick that was used to clean all the bathrooms in a large office building. There are others who are average or even less than average in those categories who have an inner beauty that makes them highly attractive and desirable to the opposite sex, or even to those within their own gender. What’s on the inside matters. I think it was comedian Flip Wilson (showing myh age!) who said beauty is skin deep but ugly goes all the way to the bone. Funny and true. But we both agree beauty and ugliness on the inside radiates outwards.
The other thing I forgot to mention is that I don’t think “pretty looks” will cut any ice with a judge or make them more effective in court.
Trump only hires women who are conventionally attractive. They have to be able to.giggles when he slaps their rumps and grabs their breasts. Competency doesn’t really matter. I suspect he’d specify that they wear a bikini tongue job interview.
He doesn’t give a damn about the looks of males or he would never have hired Steven Miles or Steve “Two Shirtsz” Bannon.
