I love the smell of litigation in the morning. It smells like justice. Donald Trump, Jr. and sister Ivanka were served with subpoenas arising out of the Office of the New York Attorney General’s investigation of the Trump Organization. That service was effected December 1. Today, news breaks that the two Trump siblings plan to oppose the subpoena. They could have filed their motion to quash weeks ago, but then it would have been a part of the public record and would have drawn attention. So they waited until the last possible minute.
Procedural games are not unknown in the law, but a procedural dodge can only last so long and then you’ve got to face the music.
Letitia James has also issued a subpoena to Daddy Trump, and he’s fighting it as well. Wasn’t Trump the one who said, “Only gangsters plead the fifth,” or words to that effect? And, “if you’re not guilty, why please the fifth?” If you’re not guilty, why dodge a subpoena?
This case also tracks with the one in the Manhattan District Attorney’s office. Both cases center on Trump’s habit of keeping two sets of books, one to impress potential lenders, one to appease the IRS. You do recall the year he only paid some $7,000 in federal income tax? Workers at Taco Bell pay more in taxes than that, and they don’t live in gilded penthouses and own private jets.
The attorney general’s case is developing and now two out of five of Trump’s kids have been “added to the case as respondents.”
This is the first business day of 2022 and I must say, we are getting off to a jolly good start. Talley ho!
I know what happens to average folks…a law enforcement officer(s) come to ur door to take u into custody. Equal justice? Right.
I suspect the rules for these scumbags is “the law is for thee, not for me”, much as I wish it were otherwise. I would shed not a single tear if these two joined daddy in whatever prison he is destined for.

I suspect Trump’s mind, the blithering jangle of mush it always has been, is hooting and hollering about how unfair and horrible the courts are treating his kids, and, the REAL problems are his own … his empire is floating on very thin ice … His self aggrandizing stance will never change, but, with his kids stepping on his own landmines, he will be frustrated because he will have to let his kids face their own firing squad or shoulder some responsibility for the business criminality … the DA’s are putting a choke hold on Trump …
Our entertainment will rise to new heights as D.Trump II, and his beautiful, precious eye candy daughter, get escorted to a meeting they are trying to avoid, his mannerisms and stumbling, bumbling vocal attacks on virtually any and all, proverbial smoke and sparks, emitted without end … Precious moments on the record, to be posted everywhere, especially in the public records banks of the Congressional Library, every newspaper, unedited videos on every real news channels …
Interesting to me, placed in the new history school books along with actual proof of all the complicit Republicans and how Trump managed to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent citizens, with his stupid inactions AND criminal actions … never to forget: NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAWS, his cost to so many lives lost to the Pandemic, and now so many are dying because of anti-masker’s/anti vascer’s, …
