It looks like it’s going to be a very expensive day for the neo-fascist supporting racist dirtbag Rudy Giuliani as the jury is set to return from and conclude its deliberations of the damages to be awarded to plaintiffs Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss for the monstrous and debilitating lies told about them by the dumbass defendant and his equally detestable former boss, Donald Trump, regarding their work in the 2020 ballot count in Georgia.

What these two women were made to endure merely for performing their civic duty is beyond detestable and the damages awarded should recognize that fact:

Raw Story

“Rudy Giuliani could be in for a tough ride after two of the eight jurors in the defamation case he’s fighting were seen crying as the plaintiff recounted being targeted, defamed, and subsequently attacked.

Specifically, when Ruby Freeman was telling the court that she could no longer use her real name, two women in the juror box were seen getting emotional, according to Andrew Rice of New York Magazine…

…”I will say that, at one point in the testimony yesterday when Ruby Freeman, the mother and pair was testifying, she became very emotional. She started talking about how she really couldn’t use her anymore, people knew who she was because of this ignominy attached to her name and she couldn’t introduce herself to people.”

Rice added that “she moved to a new place, she gave up her home, moved to a new neighborhood, she just felt like she didn’t have an identity anymore.”

“I saw one woman who was similar looking to Ruby Freeman in the sense that she was an older African American woman, dabbing her eyes with a tissue. And then, next to her, a woman who was a white middle aged white women also started… and seemed to be quite emotional. I think that it is only an eight person jury, so if two of the eight people are crying when the plaintiff is talking, it’s not good for the defendant.”

The plaintiff’s lawyers are asking for $24,000,000 compensation for each of the women which seems to me to be a fair amount for having one’s entire life overturned by a series of lies told about you for an imagined and delusional electoral advantage.

But I doubt Rudy has the means to make good on the restitution, the Orangeutan himself should really be the one on the hook, as he could easily grift the 48 million from his gullible cult members in a weekend.

Below Andrew Rice and Laura Coates discuss the jury’s reaction on CNN:

I’m afraid he doesn’t have the decades that would require, James.

Yup

My only question is can the jury award more than the plaintiffs’ counsel recommends?

Rudy probably can’t pay up either way, but a larger penalty may discourage such behavior in coming elections.

  1. Write those checks there rudy. Write ’em.

Sad thing is, I doubt he has much more than air in any bank accounts he might have. Trial be a bit expensive.

  2. Rudy has tangible assets, property in NYC and elsewhere, I’m sure. He should be left destitute, plead guilty in Georgia and ask for as long a sentence as legally possible. It would provide him with a roof, a bed, 3 meals a day (and possibly a boyfriend) to live out his sunset years.

  3. Someone who’s an actual lawyer can and should correct me if I’m wrong but the answer to your question is yes. In this type of trial there are two types/categories of damages that can be handed out. Compensatory Damages and Punitive Damages. Since Rudy has already been found guilty he’s already liable for Compensatory Damages. Since this is a tort case rather than a breach of contract one he can also be asses with the awarding of Punitive Damages. The trial just held was to provide the jury that heard the evidence determine what amount of damages is due to each of the plaintiffs. For you or anyone else who might want some actual legal experts explaining it all in terms us mere lay people can understand I give you this link to one of my favorite resources: https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/damages#

(I should note that in most, if not all jurisdictions the judge can reduce a jury’s recommended amount of damages, and of course they can be reduced at the appellate level as well)

  4. Just as Trump kept blabbing during the E Jean Carroll case, Rudy is doing the same here. That should be noted while assessingpunitive awards amount. These attacks continue to put the women at risk. Continued attacks should open him up for further damages.

  5. He will be paying 148 million. IF he has it, which is debatable. Sadly, the two ladies dis not get his shriveled testified or his bottle of Grecian Formula.
