The White House official X account is something these days. We have seen it publish poor taste, sacrilege, and now it would appear treason — all in this past week. But of course if you call this to Trump’s attention, you will be the one at fault. You are the one who has no “sense of humor” “can’t take a joke” and are unable to appreciate the scintillating wit which is his (and whomever else who controls this account. And that could be Elon Musk himself or one of Musk’s minions.) Blogger Jim Stewartson takes apart the symbolism you see above.
Anyway, the next most prominent feature is the double eagle which has a specific historical and cultural heritage. Now this could be just some AI-generated image, right? Sure, let’s leave that open as a possibility. Nevertheless, it’s worth learning what it represents.

Now, in isolation you could dismiss it as a coincidence, but note that Trump just changed May 8th to “Victory in WWII Day” which is not when the United States won WWII. That’s when Russia declared Victory in Europe and when Putin celebrates “Victory Day” in Moscow.
Is this just some kid at a computer in the White House coming up with dank memes that happen to share a lot of features with Putin’s primary symbolic representation?

In a social media post late Thursday, Mr. Trump also said he would declare May 8, the date that Nazi Germany surrendered in 1945, “Victory Day for World War II” instead of Victory in Europe Day, or V-E Day, as it is commonly known in the United States.
But some veterans’ advocacy groups said the focus of the new names on winning overlooked veterans who served in more recent wars that had more mixed results.
“It is not the veterans’ fault if we don’t win wars,” said Allison Jaslow, the chief executive of Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, who also served in Iraq. She added that “Veterans Day should be an acknowledgment of the ways that fellow Americans have served and sacrificed to protect and defend what we have in America.”
In 2023, the census counted 15.8 million veterans living in America. This year, the Department of Veterans Affairs estimated that about 66,000 American World War II veterans were alive. There are no surviving veterans of World War I.
That means that with Mr. Trump’s proposed name changes, more than 99 percent of living veterans — a group that includes Vice President JD Vance, who served with the Marines in Iraq — would be left without a holiday commemorating their service.
But who cares about that if Vladimir is happy and if America is behaving like it’s a Russian colony? I don’t know about you, but the hair is standing up on my arms right now.
RAGE, burning hotter than the sun RAGE is what I feel about this. I’m certain I’m not the only veteran who feels it. Or a descendant of those who fought and died in the Pacific Theater after hostilities in Europe ended. Trump is shitting on their graves with his dismissal of all those casualties. Not to mention other wars, and ALL Veterans.
Keep in mind not ONE member of his family on either side has served their country (either this one or their home countries before immigrating here. Hell, draft dodging his how his grandad wound up here. When he tried to slink back home to his own country he was given a choice by its ruler to get the fuck out or go to jail. So Drumpf (the family name before it got ‘Americanized’ came back here. Tragically authorities let him in and let him stay. But the appalling fact is NOT ONE member of that family has ever served their country in uniform.
