Talk about not reading the room. Every stand up comic knows that awful silence which seems to drag on for days when a joke is floated out there and it falls flat. However, the comic, if s/he’s any good, will do a fast recovery and make a new joke out of the fact that the last joke didn’t work. And the show goes on.

Except not this show. Not Donald Trump Presents, a horror show which is a sequel to 14 years of pretend on The Apprentice, wherein Trump pretended to be this really capable guy on “reality” TV.

This time is different. The set up to the joke was all wrong. Trump set up the Thursday announcement with all the pomp and circumstance that a head of state would set up a speech about the demise of an international terrorist, except worse. This was a preview of not only coming attractions but a life changing event. That’s what the expectation was and when a freaking vanity project toy turned out to be the payoff, you could hear the shrieks and moans.

This, right here, is exactly what is wrong with America. I, for one, saw Trump come down the escalator and I knew exactly who and what he was, then and there. I had never watched The Apprentice.

And I marveled at people who said, “Oh, let’s give him a chance.” Were they blind? Or stupid? Yes, they were, a bit of both.

Those were some wild days, 2015, 2016. Friendships were broken, acquaintanceships were smashed. Trump was the litmus test, at least in my life. You had something good to say about him, stay the eff away from me. I knew better.

Unfortunately, I was not wrong and my initial gut reaction was in fact warranted. And then some.

Purportedly Trump sold out all 40,000 set at $99.99 each, and brought in receipts of over $4.5 million. I will believe it when I see it. If Trump did have some stunning sale like that, I truly believe that he would be begging the New York Times, the New York Post at the very least, to put the receipts on their front page, as proof of what a power broker he is.

And truth be known? If that was the case, and Trump made mega bucks in a few hours, the RNC might start churning out some NFTs of their own. As said, I’ll believe it when I see it.

As to the unwitting and the gullible who did buy the NFTs, good luck getting them to work.

They can always go to that house in Cheyenne, Wyoming and demand a refund. Let us know how that works out for you.

  1. When you asked whether the goobers were blind or stupid and allowed they were a bit of both I thought Nope. They were a LOT of both, and worse the “stoopid” was all too often willful!

As for who coughed up the money to buy those things, perhaps there are still dumbasses out there in MAGA world that coughed up the dough. But I’m increasingly of the mind it was him using the anonymity of the crypto market to pick up some badly needed cash by washing some money for shady people. Money Laundering. Again, even after they take their cut he’ll have at least a couple of million (maybe close to three) for himself and buy a bit more precious time to juggle some of those razor sharp meat cleavers, any one of which would open a wound so big he’s a goner. Again I say it’s a desperate ploy and his typical marketing sense (and he does have some) deserted him. He could have run this scam in a way that he could repeat it. But he blew it, and drew a LOT of attention he didn’t want to the whole thing. You don’t think forensic accountants from the govt. won’t be looking into it? It’s also possible he is soooo fucked, so desperate for cash he rushed/botched the rollout of the NFTs (remember, even with buyer’s lined up for the 40k that were offered to launder their money a 24 hour sellout would, had this been handled better get the goobers drooling for the next offering!) that he’s in much worse financial trouble than we know.

    • You were expecting him to be better at math? I point you to his inability to succeed in business without his father’s constant infusions of cash up to and including the casino biz which favors the effing house F.F.S.
