It is very tough to know what to make of Lev Parnas, the former Trump insider with old tangential ties to the Russian mob and a not-so-old partnership with Rudy Giuliani. In reading Parnas’s Substack account, it is obvious that he maintains a vigilante eye over his former “compatriot” in Donald Trump. But some of Parnas’s claims to having “insider knowledge” have to be carefully evaluated. Nevertheless, he has been right of late in his predictions regarding the Epstein matter, and very few were in a better position to know what Epstein was really up to than former organized crime figures, always on the lookout for possible intelligence connections. It is with those small caveats that one should review Parnas’s latest insights and assertions over what the White House continues to do about the matter of the Epstein files. Parnas calls it out as one of the darkest cover-ups in American history and does it with a particular assertion that rings true.
Rawstory brings us a report about Parnas’s latest piece.
“Overnight, I received several phone calls from trusted sources—people inside the room—warning me about today’s meeting between Trump’s inner circle. Trump’s hierarchy is assembling in secret at the residence of Vice President J.D. Vance in Washington, D.C… [T]his is about power, protection, and the ultimate erasure of Donald Trump’s involvement in one of the darkest scandals in modern history: Jeffrey Epstein.”
It is tough to know whether he is hearing this from people who are actually inside the meeting itself, or whether he is using “room” generally and is getting this secondhand. It would seem that people who truly are inside the room at these meetings are not the type that would then turn around and talk about it, ultimately defeating the purpose altogether. And yet something rings very true because a detail like meeting at the Vice President’s mansion isn’t obvious, indeed – it sounds a little odd, which actually buttresses the credibility.
UPDATED: The meeting today has been confirmed. It is still hard to know whether there have been previous meetings – as implied by Parnas’s assertion that he knows from people “inside the room” – which could be construed as having already met on at least one equation.
“I told you it was coming—and here it is: Trump has activated Comer. This is coordinated. Calculated. The subpoenas, the Oversight Committee drama, it’s all part of the show. And while the press focuses on the chaos, the real operation is happening behind closed doors—at J.D. Vance’s home.”
Well, no doubt that there are a lot of meetings all over the place about what to do about the never-ending scandal. Additionally, it is practically impossible to see a scenario where Comer would act wholly against Trump. As noted yesterday, though, Comer hasn’t completely aligned with Trump in all things. Still, the subpoenas were sent to former enemies – the hated Clintons and members of the Intelligence Community. That does reek of a purely political play to protect Trump.
“And when Trump sees this letter, he is going to flip. There’ll be ketchup all over the White House walls—because the truth is out. Because you have it. And because I won’t stop speaking it. Let me be crystal clear: they are scrubbing Trump out of the Epstein files. Blanche and Vance are laying the groundwork. The tapes are being doctored. The subpoenas are distractions. And all of this is to keep one man protected—no matter how many victims get erased in the process.”
It is almost obvious that Trump has directed his people to “scrub” the Epstein files – we already know that 1,000 FBI agents were used to “flag” references to Trump. It is hard to imagine a scenario where at least some of those people with knowledge of the scheme won’t come out and talk about it. Perhaps the biggest revelation is that JD Vance is heading up these meetings (IF there have been or has been a previous meeting, or whether tonight is the first) and actively working to protect Trump. It may ruin Vance’s future if the whole thing were to blow up in their faces. But it is a bit of a surprising detail that actually sounds more definitive and trustworthy.
There is little doubt that an effort is being made to protect Trump. We have seen it play out already with the leaks regarding the flagging, the picture published in the Wall Street Journal, the firing of one of the lead attorneys in Maureen Comey, the closing of the case altogether, and the subsequent “gift” to Ghislaine Maxwell in Club Fed. We can see elements of it right in front of our faces – so this makes sense.
But wow, this is a high-wire act for Vance, who we know traveled out to Montana in an attempt to persuade Rupert Murdoch not to publish the bawdy letter that Trump “drew” for Epstein’s birthday. Of course, Vance’s other choice is to keep his hands totally clean, hoping to step into the office, whether by Trump going down or inheriting the spot in 2028, but he could only stay “clean” at the risk of being pushed out. (Presidents cannot “fire” a vice-president because Vice Presidents are elected on the ticket. Presidents can bring about immense pressure, making life almost impossible for a VP.) Vance has nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.
Trump, on the other hand, has everything to hide because he can’t run, even if it takes using someone like Vance. It is entirely possible that the whole operation was shoved off on JD precisely because it would, in theory, keep Trump’s hands clean.
It is really tough to know what to make of Parnas’s claims to insider knowledge. Having said that, the assertion that Vance is heading all this up at his place is uniquely specific and not at all obvious. It rings true. It should also be noted that to the extent this is being covered up, and 1,000 agents flagging Trump’s name sure sounds like proof of a cover-up, sure does sound like the darkest such endeavor ever attempted.
Of course, the real victims remain the actual victims. This might be one case that is an exception to the rule that the cover-up is worse than the crime. In this case, the crime is the crime, and the conspiracy, ongoing.

Popcorn time. There’s just too much out there and too many people involved for Vance or Comer to control the information or the narrative. What makes it even more interesting is that the cover-up is probably incriminating most of the people who are involved. That would include Blanche and Bondi to start, possibly Vance and Comer, and certainly trump. When the heat is turned up and these folks realize their legal jeopardy, the resignations may begin. Or the firings, because when the boss gets burned that’s usually his first and only reflex.
