From the administration’s point of view, knowingly or unknowingly, Vice President Vance just gave one of the worst and most problematic answers to an Epstein question yet. Granted, when there is simply nowhere to run, answering any question about the child rapist comes with serious risk. But no one forced Vance to take the office, and this is the bed on which he will lie until something resolves the Epstein matter to the public’s satisfaction. Today, Vance said that he knew of many Democratic billionaires and elites who buddied up to Epstein and then asked “who knows” what they did:

We cannot yet be sure regarding the entirety of what went on with the child traffickers, but we can be sure as to who does know what happened, that would be the FBI and the Department of Justice. They know, and that leaves Vance looking absolutely foolish and, perhaps, making his own party angrier, giving them more reason to demand the files. Vance throws his hands up as if there’s nothing to be done, almost as though he is on the outside looking in on a Democratic administration. If the current regime wants to bust “Democrats” who went to Epstein’s island and raped kids, great – we are just as tired of the cover-up and no longer care who is outed. Just be sure to arrest them all and not give political cover to the Republican(s) who are also there. (There is little reason to doubt that Trump would happily offer up some Republicans as involved with Epstein if it meant that he could skate free. It should be obvious to all as to why he will not.)
It is so bad that some commenters are starting to wonder whether Vance might almost be weaseling around a way to toss Trump aside, hoping that the scandal takes him down, leaving Vance to run the show:

Oddly, we should also be asking why Vance thinks that we’re not demanding that they release the files on all Democrats who attacked children. The outrage is that they’ve decided to protect everyone as a means to most protect this guy:

I guess we are lucky that someone like Maria Bartiromo, one of the most shameless Trump supporters on the network, even asked an Epstein question. As seen, there really is no good answer to these questions. They were all Democrats? Why aren’t they prosecuting them?
It is true that when it comes to child rape, the Democrat/Republican question should go right out the window. And it absolutely would except for the fact that Trump’s self-protection so obviously and necessarily includes protecting the Democrats caught up in the outrages. Not that the dynamic is all that uncomfortable to Trump, the man on the Access Hollywood tapes who stated that he “grabs them by the p*ssy,” always reserves his sympathies for the men involved – never really acknowledging the women and girls as people, never mind as victims who should get justice.
Given that Vance has apparently been given a prominent role in the task of extracting Trump from this mess, it certainly is worth noting his answers to various Epstein questions. It is possible that Vance sees the Epstein matter as one avenue by which he might wrestle power away from Trump – tough to tell. It is tough to tell in part because he has no good answers to some of these questions.
If it is purely political and “Democrats” assaulted girls on Epstein’s island, what’s the hold up? Trump says they have to be fair, but why be fair to Democratic child rapists? There is only one answer, the same answer to every problem or matter that Trump faces. It is about him personally, of course it is.
JD Vance likely knows it as well as anyone.

As I’ve said, the whole sex with underage girls morass isn’t defined by political ideology so much as wealth and power and the ability to get away with awful shit because of status. Hillbilly Elegy would have us believe that only democrats would be involved in such perversion because that’s the narrative the right has pushed for years. It was even making some pretty big headlines leading up to Pizzagate.
H.E. is almost certainly not involved in any of this; he’s too corny in a weird, evil sort of way. As to who is involved, we might all be in for some surprises if the client list is ever revealed, but we do have some ideas about who might be on it. (DJT! Probably WJC!) Suffice it to say, this sex trafficking thing is guaranteed to be a bipartisan thing in the end.
