Included in the list of Furkids’ favourite activities – vying for the top spot with eating, cuddling and petting – is sleep. From a quick snooze in a pool of sunnybeamz to the deep repose of hibernation, the Creator endowed them with a mastery in sleep that is the envy of many hoomins. 
To celebrate the pure bliss of slumber, from baby naps to their final rest, the Furkids have chosen a long-beloved piece of music, the Lullaby composed by Johannes Brahms in 1868. It’s a very special lullaby which they are dedicating to their darling furriend, Luna.
A quick Google search discovered a considerable variation in lyrics, and I added to them what I remembered of the words my mother sang. The Furkids took all the words away with them and returned several days later with their version. I did suggest that we choose either the ‘you’ or ‘thee’ format, but they wanted to keep both, so that’s the way it is.
When you’re ready, press play on the jukebox, then scroll down to the illustrated lyrics. The violins begin with a brief, soft introduction before the deeper tones of the viola carry us into the first verse.
