Matt Gaetz may have had a dream of running for Governor of Florida but the way things look, he will still be a talking head on Newsmax. And that’s a perfect use of his *abilities.* There is truth in the old adage, water finds its own level. As to Ron and Casey DeSantis, OMFG, when they read Trump’s Truth Social post they will lose their MINDS!

No they have not, and that includes Ron’s recent efforts with the Florida State legislature to pass a series of proposals on illegal immigration.
So the operant question now becomes, can Casey DeSantis overcome Trump’s endorsement of another candidate? A recent poll in Tallahassee shows that Casey was leading the field of contenders with a 52% approval rating. The same poll also showed that 33% of those polled had never heard of her. If you think that’s astonishing, it’s not. Even Cristina Bobb, the Newsmax talking head and Trump lawyer who told the FBI they had all the documents they asked for during the Mar-a-Lago raid, openly guffawed when talking to two California MAGAs who had never heard of Gavin Newsom. Look, if MAGAs were bright people, we wouldn’t be watching the ruination of this country.
This same poll also showed that 58% didn’t approve of the Gulf of America name change. I wonder what a Governor Donalds would do about that? Would he do what his constituents want or what his Mango Massa wants? I think we know the answer to that.
In any event, 2026 will be a hot political year in Florida for a lot of reasons.
