This is it, now it’s official. Iron, the Goddess of Irony, just put her head in the oven. She can’t take it anymore. Time was, you could tell the difference between a media outlet banner headline and The Onion, and those days are gone.

A few days ago Vladimir Putin told a reporter at Foreign Policy Magazine that “western liberalism” was an idea whose day had come and gone. A New York Times reporter asked Trump to comment on that Monday, and SNL couldn’t have written a more ridiculous response.

“Well, again, he may feel that way. He sees what’s going on. I guess, if you look at what’s happening in Los Angeles, where it’s so sad to look, and what’s happening in San Francisco, and a couple of other cities which are run by an extraordinary group of liberal people — I don’t know what they’re thinking. But he does see things that are happening in the United States that would probably preclude him from saying how wonderful it is.”

There you have it friends. The sitting *resident of the United States doesn’t know the difference between western liberalism and west coast liberals. He doesn’t know “the west” is those countries in Europe (and he claims to be “from Europe,” don’t forget that) that formed NATO with the United States. No, sir, he thinks Putin is talking about Santa Monica Boulevard. He thinks John Locke and those guys are having wine coolers and avocado toast in the shade — that would be if he had even heard the name John Locke, and then his first reaction would be to ask if he was a contestant on Celebrity Apprentice.

Trump is epically ignorant. Sublimely, cosmically, abysmally, beyond description or measurement ignorant. Ignorance on this level can only be expressed in mathematical notation, by minds so vast that they can comprehend galactically sized concepts. Trump makes Dubya on his worst day look like Newton and Galileo combined.

I think I may drive out to Malibu this afternoon and walk along the cliffs. I will call out to Iron, “Goddess, come back! Irony is thousands of years old!” And she will say to me, “You’re right, but it cannot live in the vacuum of sheer stupidity created by that buffoon. Let me know when he’s gone from this dimension, so that I can return. And I’ll bring Rod Serling with me.”

Another day, another unbelievable commentary from TrumpWorld. And about the you-can’t-make-this-shit-up file? We’re going to have to put another moon in orbit to contain it.

  1. “Trump is epically ignorant. Sublimely, cosmically, abysmally, beyond description or measurement ignorant. Ignorance on this level can only be expressed in mathematical notation, by minds so vast that they can comprehend galactically sized concepts. “

But, Ursula, quit beating around the bush. Tell us how you really feel.

    • Truly, I marvel at all this. And what really floors me is that this has become normalized. This is not the story that will lead the six o’clock news tonight, by any stretch of the imagination. But can you imagine if any other president had given this response?

    • It’s interesting that he’s hidden his records from school. I suspect they’re much worse than he wan’t people to think. (I wonder what his SAT scores look like.)

      • I seem to recall with the SAT that you get a 200 just for showing up. I’ll bet his SAT is something truly atrocious. Something that would sink you or me forever, but it just cost his Dad Fred a couple of extra bucks to fix.

        • You got 200 on each half. So the minimum total score is 400. (For UC, if you score was under something like 1000, it didn’t matter what your grades were – you weren’t getting in. I had a B average – barely – but I had nice scores, so they let me in.)

There’s a website where you can use your test scores to estimate your IQ: https://www.iqcomparisonsite.com/GREIQ.aspx

    • My jaw dropped open when I heard this. I have to say, I have great respect for the reporters in that room that they didn’t all just crack up hysterically. That took restraint.

      • Yeah, but … they SHOULD HAVE! Until and unless the largely useless media starts laughing at this human slag-heap it will get event worse! It probably will anyway but NOT expressing “WTF?!?” is not an acceptable response.

        • It’s an interesting quandary, and only the advent of Trump would raise it. What’s worse? The press not laughing, and thereby normalizing yet another idiotic comment of his, or laughing, and then Trump would be screaming “Enemy of the people?” We are in the proverbial damned if you do, damned if you don’t position.

  2. He will be, forevermore, for all eternity, the answer to the question,
“Who was the most stupid President of The United States of America?”

    • Unless we elect a grandfather clock president. And the clock, even when broken, will still be right twice a day and that’s more than we can say for him.

  3. Interdimensionally ignorant would be about right it seems to me. Pretty sure the Mother Goddess would agree.

Awww, the Malibu sunsets are magnifico! Exceptional time to relax and listen to the inner muse. Don’t personally live there but I’ve visited quite a bit over the years and it seems cool. Hope you have an enlightening time of it 0)))

On the bright side: almost all vacuums break down and give it up in time. Actually, time is on our side exponentially although there are those who aren’t aware of it………Simple astrophysical mathematics is the key…….

Hang in there Ursula and keep up the great analysis… your commentary is more important then you may know……..

    • Thank you, lauran. It’s good to hear. I’m glad you like the commentary. If I didn’t have this site to come to and share this with people, I would go nuts. I started going nuts in Spring, 2016. Seriously. I was very ill that spring. My body chemistry was all messed up. I remember one day when I realized with horror that Trump very probably would get the nomination, and I’ve been living in various degrees of horrified, ever since.

  4. I splutter. In fact I can’t even do that. The unreality of this nightmare simply can’t be dealt with.
Of course we’ll still all need ‘someone to vote forrrrr cuz Democrats I don’t like all suck!’

    • Isn’t this more off the walls than his usual, though? At least, when he’s raving about tariffs, he’s wrong, but he’s on the correct topic. Here, he’s talking about some other subject, not even in the same ball park as the reporter asked him about.

      • Agreed … the ‘unreality’ (if only) deepens every day and how to respond? Or whether? 2020 … hurry up and may the political gods be merciful.

    • They can’t get him to sit through an actual briefing if it doesn’t have pics and his name appearing frequently – and it has to be less than one page of bullet-point items.
He’s about as useful in that job as your average 6-year-old would be.

      • You know what blows my mind? I think even the Trump supporters would admit that Trump wouldn’t make a good kindergarten teacher, or a good cop — yet somehow he’s going to make a good president? If there’s one flaw with the constitution, this is it. People really should be required to hold elective office before running for president. Something like this can’t be allowed to happen again.

  5. He needs to be hung out on this one and here’s why …. we as a nation, are getting laughed at more every day internationally as allowing the butt head as a president, who knows nothinnng about the job, or anything else as well …

He is held in massive disrespect, non-trusted, considered the biggest liar ever in every corner, his mission seems to other countries with PM’s that actually know stuff, to lie to every country rep, no matter, his narcissism is front and center in any sit-downs with Trump, and he is so obvious, they ALL know it, and in recent meetings, if you look closely, you can see other leaders and PM’s getting that oh NO he’s coming over here again … wince and frown, looking for the nearest escape route … his constant falling back on his very limited vocabulary, and bombastic loud and immature actions to cover for his lack of big words and zero knowledge about the important stuff like, Tariffs …

Tariffs is a magic word for him one of few he can actually tweet correctly, most of the time, and absolutely does NOT know what one IS and how destructive their use is to US the people … I think he still is stuck behind the old 8 ball on that one, thinking the other guys pay the costs for those …

This is why he needs to learn he is totally unprepared to actually BE a president … much less prove it to the international countries we need to be good to …

This mistake is another one of his that clouds the minds of thinkers everywhere if they are shown his error on a grand scale, his loser supporters won’t matter if we get thinkers on board the vote …. GOTV !!

    • This story isn’t getting a lot of play, for a couple of reasons. First of all, it’s the gaffe du jour. He’s always saying something stupid and this is today’s bill of fare. Secondly, everybody already knows that he doesn’t understand how NATO works, and he certainly doesn’t know any history. Now, I’m not saying I agree with these attitudes — I’m merely saying that I recognize them.

  6. The grifter squatting in the oval office is stupid, not ignorant. Ignorant = W/O knowledge. Stupid = W/O knowledge ++ absolutely NO ability to learn or reason. Enough said.
