Donald Trump, the pitchman president, used his closing remarks at the G-7 conference in Biarritz as an infomercial for his Doral golf club in Miami where he proposes to hold the 2020 G-7. Intriguingly, the Doral has had severe financial problems since 2015, with profits down 69%. And the bedbug issue that Trump got sued over in 2016 and settled shortly after his inauguration in 2017, doesn’t help matters either. Of course, Trump gave us all our daily dose of denial and gaslighting on the subject, early Tuesday.
No bedbugs at Doral. The Radical Left Democrats, upon hearing that the perfectly located (for the next G-7) Doral National MIAMI was under consideration for the next G-7, spread that false and nasty rumor. Not nice!

The “false and nasty rumor,” alas, is on record with the court. Washington Post:
In 2016, Doral was sued by a former guest, Eric Linder, who said he had been bitten multiple times by bed bugs while staying in the luxe Jack Nicklaus Villa at Trump’s property. His complaint alleged that he awoke to discover “welts, lumps and marks over much of his face, neck, arms and torso.”
Linder alleged that the villa had “a history of severe bed bug infestation.”
The Trump Organization denied the allegation, without going into detail. It settled the case in 2017, shortly after Trump’s inauguration.
Neal Hirschfeld, a Florida attorney who represented Linder in the bedbug lawsuit, said he could not comment Tuesday because the settlement included a confidentiality clause.
So, Trump’s got a great venue for the G-7 conference in 2020, he’ll have you know, at a place right next to the airport, plenty of parking, with “magnificent buildings” with “magnificent views,” and the bedbugs and other “critical” health code violations, that occur in Trumpworld, such as cockroaches and rodents, are pretty magnificent, too, in terms of how sweeping and severe the problems with them are.
Oh, and you won’t want to swim in the pool, either. Health inspectors last year caused Trump’s Florida pools to be shut down, due to poor water quality and inadequate safety features. Improper pH and chlorine levels can lead to conditions that spread gastrointestinal, skin, ear, respiratory, eye, and neurologic diseases, so if the bedbugs don’t get you, the pool will. “Beware of the pool” as the B-52’s warned back in the day. Maybe they stayed at Doral?
As it will be Dumb Quixote’s last G-7 allow him to schedule it at Doral and then everyone cancel.
Considering the company and the cold fast food offered it shouldn’t take too much persuasion.

You know, just the idea of Trump putting all those world leaders in one of his sub-standard facilities is a comical premise. I can see it now, lousy food and Macron and Trudeeu going on about it in French, while even Boris Johnson is disgusted. This is farce material, all right.

Boris is the consummate statesman, when compared to Trump. I never thought BoJo could be characterized that way, until Trump got into office. But then again, Kim Jong Un seems fairly rational, next to Trump. We live in strange times.
