This took a few days. I speculate that the people of Greenland and their government were pondering if they should speak up at all. Donald Trump made a tasteless and absurd comment about how the acquisition of Greenland was a necessity. Then of course Fox News picked up on it and treated it as if it was a real thing and then the legacy media began to normalize the absurdity. And so voila, the Prime Minister of Greenland had no choice but to speak up. Welcome to our national shitshow, Mr. Prime Minister. On behalf of the half of America that is utterly appalled, I apologize.

If Trump said tomorrow that the moon was made out of green cheese, the networks would be reporting it factually and suggesting that maybe NASA wasn’t telling us the full story about the composition of the moon and that more tests of lunar soil were indicated. The Bezos Bugle would run it as a front page story. I’m not being facetious. This is a big reason we are where we are.
