This week is the anniversary of the release of a song by Hal David and Burt Bacharach: “What The World Needs Now”. 57 years later, its message resonates now more than ever. What our world needs more of is love. Love for our planet, love of peace and love for each other, and the Furkids are helping hoomins spread the love far and wide.

A wonderful lady called Jackie gave them the coins for the jukebox this week so it’s all ready to go. Just press PLAY, scroll down to the lyrics and sing along!

  1. This was great. The funny thing is that yesterday evening I was thinking some about my father and this song came to mind. I was in Jr. High when it came out, and though he hated me blasting KXOK on my radio (that was the Top 40 AM station out of St. Louis that covered that part of the midwest – he’d regularly bang on my door and tell me to turn that crap/shit down. Or better yet turn it off!) this song made him stop and open the door to listen. Right after that a commercial came on and he commented he was glad I was listening to something other than that damned rock station! The look on his face when the next tune started spinning was priceless. Anyway, this and one other tune of hers is perfect for what you do with this weekly feature and my oh my was your timing impeccable today!

  2. {{{Michelle}}} Lovely song. No matter who is singing it. And an even lovelier concept that you and the Furkids illustrated so beautifully. Healing Energy & more {{{HUGS}}} – & Skritches to Ms. Loula.

  3. Oh, I needed to hear this song today, and the photos were so sweet. I wish, I wish so much that that spirit of love would embed itself in those who are being so hateful these days. Thanks, Michelle.
