With the exuberant vitality of the Harris-Walz rock ‘n’ roll band energizing down-ballot campaigns, blue power has rocketed up to “sky-high” on the Universal Energy Scale. The Furkids felt the Earth’s energy shift from fear-and-loathing to joy-and-inspiration and they’re revelling in it! They noted that this shift was no subtle change; it was so sudden and profound that it was more like the proverbial bolt from the blue – and that, they reckon, is the bestest kind!

They tell me this universal shift is infused with dynamic female power that is animating the women’s vote and radiating outwards. It carries within it the passion of the suffragette movement around the turn of the 20th century and the reinvigoration of the women’s rights movement in the 1960s.

With that in mind, they chose a song this week that brings together those two eras – the “Sister Suffragette” song from the 1964 film Mary Poppins – and transports them into the present.

Coins were procured via a fundraiser run by the monkeys (I didn’t ask for details but it was bound to have been chaotic) so the jukebox is primed and ready to go. Just press play, scroll down to the illustrated lyrics and sing along!

Furkids love the frothy milkshakes at ko-fi.com/furkids. They want you to know they love licking up their frothy moustaches. You can treat them to their favourite frothies for $3/€3/£3. All proceeds go towards Loula’s healthcare (her annual vaccination has been delayed until this month because other pressing bills and life’s little chicanes pushed it forward) — our heartfelt thanks to all contributors. 💝 💖 💝

    • It is the Furkids’ mission to cause smiles, giggles, chuckles and lots of laughing out loud! They maintain – and I agree with them – that it is good for everyone’s health!

  1. Oh, my! 👏 Great musical choice for the great breakthrough sisters are gonna make in just a coupla months! Glynis Johns was one of my all-time favs! She had a way of looking fragile, but she was always the strongest character on the screen…check out “The Court Jester” with Danny Kaye (one of my adolescent crushes) for more proof! Special kudos for that knitted cat coat, too! 🥳

    • I loved Glynis Johns – I was fascinated by her voice. The Court Jester remains one of my all-time favourite films too – Danny Kaye was just brilliant! I also have a fondness for another film starring Glynis Johns: “Appointment With Venus” (known as “Island Rescue” in the US). I predict that quite a few old films may be in my near future!

    • Thank you for sharing! The Furkids and I really appreciate it.

And I am completely in love with the fabulous cat coat! If I didn’t live in the tropics, I’d consider knitting it myself!
