With the passing of Queen Elizabeth on Friday, the Furkids wanted to celebrate her love of dogs. I rummaged in our files and found a song that featured the Queen with her beloved corgis. We rearranged the images and added a few more to round off the song with the Queen and her furbabies through the years. In the final photograph, taken by Annie Leibovitz for Vanity Fair, the Queen poses with Holly beside her and around her feet are, from left to right: Willow, Vulcan and Candy. The latter two are dorgis—the crossbreed the Queen engineered when one of her corgis mated with a dachshund that belonged to her sister, Princess Margaret.

    • I really appreciate the healing energy. Doc thinks I may have a minor spinal injury that is the cause of my back pain and I may also have torn a muscle in my upper left arm. Though I’m right-handed, it doesn’t mean so much these days when we type with both hands! Meanwhile, my heart is behaving itself beautifully! There’s always something good!

    • You’re welcome, Roberta. I must say that it was while putting this together that her death really hit me. I really wanted to do the best I could for her. I bet she liked this song too.

  1. It’s nice to think that our fur babies will greet the Queen as she floats across the rainbow bridge. I’m sure they’ll wait patiently for a skritchy or a pat.

    • What a beautiful story, thank you. Nobody is perfect but the Queen was an excellent monarch because she really cared about her people. She was as good a monarch as there has ever been.

  2. That was just lovely, Michele. Love the song – I fell in love with the Monkees when I was 12, and I still love their music. And what a beautiful tribute for the Queen and her Corgis; I would bet that the Queen is in Heaven being greeted by her all of her former, now Angel, Corgis.

    • I reckon the Queen would have liked this song too. As I was putting this together, I was envisioning her with her corgi angels. I think she will be as happy to see them as to be reunited with Phillip, her mum and her father whom she loved so much.
