Because all the way around the Northern Hemisphere, all creatures and hoomins are suffering record-breaking high temperatures, the Furkids decided that this week’s column needed to be cool – and not just awesome but also cool temperature-wise. So wrap a wet towel around the pedestal fan (then stuff another one in the fridge for later use), toss some ice cubes in a long, cool drink, and chill out with the Furkids!

I do like the blobfish – it has such character! Its image was in my file for ages, waiting for me to find a use for it, and finally it found its home. 😸
Actually, the poor blobfish looks relatively ordinary when he’s in his natural environment. But when he’s brought to the surface, without his accustomed pressure to keep him in shape, blobiness happens. I always feel sorry for him — laughed at for a shape he wouldn’t even have if people left him alone.

The cow-dolphin pic was shared around our school several years ago. The caption was something to the effect of —
