It’s another big election year so I suggested to the team that we might do a campaign song this week. The Furkids snuffled and shuffled about for a bit until someone came up with โCome Togetherโ by The Beatles. Turns out John Lennon was asked to write a campaign song for Timothy Leary whose campaign slogan was โCome Togetherโ. He wrote a few lines but it wasnโt what Leary was looking for so Lennon took it to the studio with him and, with Paul McCartney, worked it into its final form.
Some of the lines, as Lennon happily admitted, are purposeful nonsense โ and I rather think thatโs why it appeals so much to the Furkids team. They adore nonsense! Of course they added their own touches as well. I think John Lennon would’ve approved.
The jukebox was borrowed from 1969 and is full of old money so just press play then scroll down to the illustrated lyrics and sing along!
{{{Michelle}}} Another winner. (Hopefully the elections will be too.) The Furkids make at least as much sense – and frequently more sense – as most humans. Pick good songs, too. Heh. Skritches to Ms. Loula. Healing Energy and moar {{{HUGS}}} to you.
I agree – they do frequently make more sense than most humans!

Always a masterpiece and always original. I don’t know how you do it. :))
I pretty much always sing along. I often weep. Another winner! I do not know how you do it either but it is brilliant!
