The Furkids are loving the buoyancy and sheer joy of the Harris-Walz campaign! They wanted a song that expressed the transformative leap from the joylessness and constant anxiety of the 2017-2020 error (as in history took a wrong turn) to the delight and promise of 2024 on the threshold of a new and wonderful era. (They tell me they know who will win the presidential election and as they’re all psychic, I believe them.)
At first, I was sceptical of their song choice – I’m a Believer by The Monkees – but when I read through the lyrics, I had to admit their musical instincts were right once again.
After I’d separated the buttons and washers from the dimes and nickels, there were more than enough coins to top up the jukebox. Just press play, scroll down to the lyrics and sing along!

Just an interesting little factoid: did you know The Who were approached by the creators of The Monkeys to be the band on the show? Happily Pete and the boys turned them down (always been a big fan of The Who-I think Tommy is brilliant).
