I recently heard this song again — an Australian hit from 1970 — and asked the Funday Furkids team what they thought of it. Given that it’s 51 years old this year, most of them had never heard it before but they enjoyed hearing it for the first time and thought you would like it too!

So here we are with our version of “A Little Ray of Sunshine” by Axiom with lead singer Glenn Shorrock and singer-songwriter Brian Cadd who wrote this song to commemorate the birth of his firstborn and his transformation from hard rocker to doting dad.

The jukebox has been dialled back to 1970, primed with coins and ready to go. Just push play then scroll down through the illustrated lyrics and sing along.

  1. {{{Michelle}}} This is so lovely. Hope for the world is woven of little rays of sunshine. This is a “smiles and tears” one rather than a “smiles and laughter” one -and very dear. Skritches to Ms. Loula – a now-grown-up little ray of sunshine herself. Healing Energy & moar {{{HUGS}}} to you.

  2. Hi, Mopsy! Thanks for a wonderful Sunday treat! So very, very sweet. The song was new to me, and I really like it. Hope you had a beautiful weekend.
