Henrietta McAlister, a dear Twitter friend of the Funday Furkids team, commented last week that more love, less hate is what the world needs now. The team wholeheartedly agrees with Henri and it reminded those with long memories of a song that expressed the same sentiment.

We have only a loose plan so it’s easy to slot in new ideas – not that furkids are into planning anyway beyond the next meal, walk or nap. (A week to them is best expressed in the number of meals or walks or sleeps between now and then, or for cats and koalas, it’s about 100 naps.)

A lovely lady called Jackie gave them the coins for the jukebox this week so it’s all ready to go. Just press PLAY, scroll away and sing along!

Hi Cheryl! It’s always lovely to see you here. You’ve become a Funday favourite!

  1. Fantastic, Michelle! I loved all of the photos, but my favorites are the otters… they’re so sweet and fuzzy, and the little ones are plain adorable!! Thanks for this – made my day!

  2. Oh, my…thanks for enriching my day. This was the best yet. I had to go back after the song ended to soak in all the precious critters.

  3. {{{Michelle}}} Wonderful, as usual. And true. (& I remember when Jackie DeShannon originally did this. LOL) Bless the furkids for thinking of it. Bless you for doing it. Skritches to Ms. Loula and moar {{{HUGS}}} to you.

    • It’s a glorious song! And it’s as appropriate to the present time as it was back in the mid-1960s when it was released. Skritches to charlie, Cloud, Murf, Freddie, Rennie and Bobbie! {{{HUGS}}} with love to you.

  4. Michelle, that was a wonderful blend of song and critters. Just too cute and so inspiring. And I do have one of those “long memories” that remembers and appreciates that song. Another great job!

  5. I do not know how you do this! But it is masterful! It uplifts my heart and makes it sing! Thank You Thank You Thank You, for every FF but this one especially!!!!

    • The aim is to increase everyone’s happiness quotient. Over the previous four years, no one has been getting their full quota of happiness and we’re here to address the shortage!

  6. Just beautiful, Michelle! I love this song, and Jackie DeShannon has such a terrific voice. Thanks for reminding us of it!
