If you’re wondering what the children running your government are doing with your taxpayer dollars, ponder no more. This image is out of the official White House X account, which means that this is the face that the White House presents to the world. Ha ha ha ha, Donald is King Donald, isn’t that a thigh slapper? Ho ho ho. The biggest and best charitable organization in the world, USAID, is in tatters, Ukraine has been abandoned, we’re on the verge of war with Canada for the first time since 1812, planes keep crashing and/or flipping over — but is attention paid to that? Hell, no. THIS is what’s important. Because this, combined with taking a wrecking ball to the government (and playing lots of golf) is what Trump brings to a second term.

This is Trump world in a nutshell: 1. Create an illusion; 2. Sell it via mass media and social media; 3. Forget about all real world consequences because nobody in this faux administration knows anything about that to begin with; and 4. Pat yourself on the back for being so clever — and owning the libs!

Things are fraying badly at the seams after just 30 days. What are we to expect going forward for the next three years, eleven months? Chaos, golf, and yucking it up. And look at this. I joked about this just yesterday. Wait for a bill to come to pass on this very thing.

This is no joke. Claudia Tenney (R-Nutville) nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize and suggested that his likeness be put on Mt. Rushmore. And this is no joke either.

No, the judiciary determines what the Constitution says. The seminal case is Marbury v. Madison. This is sheer madness to suggest otherwise — but madness is where we dwell. America is an open air lunatic asylum with this *man* in charge.

For those of you questioning your own sanity, a word of reassurance: You’re not nuts. Things are bad and likely to get worse. There really is a coup underway. One unelected “senior government advisor” who, apparently, is not even in charge of the agency he previously said he leads, really is taking a brickbat to the machinery of American governance. He really is lying about the reasons for this undertaking. He really did give that salute at the Inauguration—and has continued to drop barely-veiled Nazi “jokes” and references on his social media site in the weeks since.

His junior partner really is trying to cut Ukraine out of negotiations to end Vladimir Putin’s unprovoked invasion—and threatening the EU with tariffs while simultaneously pining for Russia to return to the G7. He really does plan to ethnically cleanse Gaza, although he didn’t use that term. He really is sending migrants to Guantanamo Bay. All of this while continuing to blame DEI for plane crashes and egg prices and whatever other problems addle the pickled lump of grievances that passes for his brain.

A month into the second reign of Burger King, I’m already exhausted. I suspect many of you are, too. Even though I’m sure you felt prepared for the floodgates of madness to be fully opened, as I did, it’s still easy to feel as if you’re drowning in the ensuing deluge. You may already feel like surrendering. I know I do. But I also know I won’t. And I don’t think you will, either.

This mis-administration is still at the early speculative stages. And let’s face it, a lot of Americans are still in shell shock from Election Night. We’re still in denial of our loss. Read the Kubler-Ross book on the stages of mourning following death. But traumatized or not we need to get on the phone to our reps and senators and let them know what’s needed. Because we need to resist now and organize like crazy for 2026. Trump is deranged and his billionaire buddies are running the show. This is an intolerable state of affairs.

  1. “Things are fraying badly at the seams after just 30 days. What are we to expect going forward for the next three years, eleven months?”

The fraying at the seams is happening faster than the courts can restitch them. Now some aren’t just frayed, they’re torn completely, and the very fabric is tattering.

But we don’t have three years, we’ve got less than two, til the mid-terms, and a lot of civil disobedience and consumer boycotts and court suits to go.

    We will survive.
