I wrote a piece yesterday that I felt passionately about, wherein Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman and Garry Kasparov all called out the pro-Putin stooges which are rampant both in our government and on Fox News. Last night Tucker Carlson took to the airwaves and said that Ukraine is not a democracy, it’s a corrupt autocracy funding the Biden family and that’s the rationale for backing the country, not to prevent the largest confrontation in Europe since 1945.

Now, this morning, Al Jazeera has released a tape showing a Fox News talking head having the hubris to ask NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg if he has “any evidence” that Russia is in Ukraine. This is a new level of outrage, even for Fox News.

The implication that a statesman of this caliber would get up and lie to the world is absolutely beyond the pale by any decent measure.

“Evidence” has been all over social media and in the legitimate press for days now. And this Fox reporter knows it as well as anybody.

Finding “evidence” of Russian presence is as easy as finding snowflakes in January.

This is spot on. The Gulf War was a different kettle of fish and with the technology we have today there are a lot of boots on the ground, not just big media outlets sending correspondents. Eyes are everywhere.

I honestly think that it is time for a law against a pseudo-news organization spewing pro-Putin propaganda at a time when America and its allies in the world are attempting to keep democracy alive.

I see this as a premiere consideration. Probably I’m the voice in the wilderness and I’ll be howling to myself, but I’m going to keep howling. This is outrageous. FDR didn’t have to contend with pro-Hitler forces spewing propaganda onto the airwaves when we were fighting WWII. No president has had to contend with what Joe Biden is dealing with now vis a vis Fox News.

Help keep the site running, consider supporting.

I think that’s true, but there are precedents. But there was a pro-fascist contingent in America during the 1930s and an even larger isolationist one. I think everybody should read this:

As for putting a damper on the Fox propaganda machine, the key ought too be Section 3 (treason) of the US Constitution, “Aid and Comfort” clause; I would hope that our role in NATO would serve to define Putin’s Russia as en enemy. Otherwise, damage suits seem to be effective.

No, love, you are NOT alone in the wilderness. This is some of the best anything I have read today, and my eyeballs are exhausted since about 0700.

  3. I can’t help but wonder if Ruppert Murdoch and his son Lachlan who has taken over day-to-day operations made a decision to become part of Putin’s gang of oligarchs. If Vlad gets his way the time will come when Fox and RT will be merged into one. That’s not guaranteed at this point but it sure as hell seems to me like they are preparing for that possibility so that if forced into such a merger a lot more Fox people will be kept, and it will be mostly RT people getting downsized.

  4. Consider Gulf War phase 2: Dubbya claimed there were ‘weapons of mass destruction’ (which, despite intensive searching were never found) However, Republicans believed him where members of NATO (specifically France) didn’t and refused to assist.

Now we’re having Republicans claiming that Russia didn’t send troops across the border when there is photographic evidence that they did just that, so that means NATO is telling lies. I know which one I believe.

Now what group bases its claims on lies?

  5. Back when the USSR was our enemy, any media source siding with them would have been taken off the air. This is NO DIFFERENT. Russia is our enemy. Fox needs to have its ability to broadcast taken away: jerk its license NOW. This is not a freedom of the press issue. It is giving comfort to our enemies. PERIOD.
