If you’re getting a strange sense of deja vu, no, you’re not crazy. Fox News ran a controversial piece just yesterday, wherein it claimed that former Trump cabinet member Tom Price called Trump a “narcissist” and invited the former president to “kiss my big medical butt.” A few hours later the story was retracted.
Now, today, Fox News has an interview up with “Big Billy” E’Elia, a mobster who just wrote a book. In it he mentions doing casino business with Donald Trump. Raw Story:
A new book out this weekend on a top former mob boss claims that the mob did business with casino owner Donald Trump in the 1980s – but that things didn’t go far because Trump couldn’t be trusted, Fox News reported today.
The book – entitled “The Life We Chose: William ‘Big Billy’ D’Elia and the Last Secrets of America’s Most Powerful Mafia Family” – is promoted as containing new information about Jimmy Hoffa, the Godfather Movie, and at least one Trump dealing with mobsters.
The Fox News interview with the raspy-voiced D’Elia included this exchange about Trump:
Q: You met him.
A: A couple of times.
Q: What was he like?
A. Just like he is on TV now. Arrogant and he don’t keep his word.
Q. He does not keep his word?
A. No.
Hit the link to Fox News and watch the video. Of course, Trump campaign spox Stephen Cheung said that the book “belonged in the discount bin in the fiction section” because that’s where all books which are derogatory about Trump belong, in Cheung’s opinion. Miles Taylor’s book also belongs there, we are told.
I’m posting this at approximately 5:15 p.m. Pacific Time. If Fox News retracts this story in a couple of hours I’m going to really wonder what’s up.
Just like the song says, anything goes.

Could be a book worth reading, not just about D’Elia’s dealings with trump, but also the mob’s connections to celebrities like Sinatra and Brando, and their ‘consulting role’ in the Godfather movies. If it goes back to Hoffa, there might even be something new on the Kennedy’s and the assassinations. If trump stiffed the mob, he’s lucky he didn’t end up being one.
Trump probably still has silent partners to some of his real estate holdings with organized crime in the U.S. (same with Russian oligarchs but they’ve got other problems these days) I for one wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to one day learn that there are signed agreements that Trump Tower and other places Trump is so proud of can be seized at a moments notice if Trump doesn’t keep up meeting certain obligations he incurred decades ago. And that some of these folks are keeping a VERY close eye on his financial situation. They will have people in place to ensure that if the collapse of the Trump “empire” is days away Trump will get a “visit” and these people WILL get theirs, leaving little for other creditors to seize. It makes me wonder if this book you write about is a shot across Trump’s bow – a “we’re watching and don’t dare try anything” type or warning.
As of 10:40 CTD the video and story were still on the FOX website. They probably figure that the old mobster talks so low that most of their fans can’t hear what he is saying.
I thought when you could no longer be trusted by the mob, you ended up at the bottom of Hudson Bay in a pair of concrete shoes. Where the hell was the mob when we needed them? They could have saved our nation a LOT of embarrassment.
Trump wouldn’t be very successful as a mobster. He isn’t smart or loyal.or,yes, brave enough to do his own dirty work.(he has “people” for that). He would never make it past low level threatener. Someone else would have to be the leg breaker who actually fulfilled the threat. And he would mouth off to the capo and that would be goodbye, Donnie.
I know a tad about this because me godmother marked a,dude who was a debt collector for the mob. Handsome Dean Marti. lookalike who was rampantly unfaithful to.my godmother when on business or golf trips. One night he had an “accident” on the NY Palisades and spent the rest of his life paralyzed in a wheelchair. I always wondered which capo he pissed off.
