Whether the questions are legitimately founded or not, there is no question that Xitter is now bursting with fresh evidence possibly indicating diminishing Trump health. As always, a couple of caveats up top are necessary. First, he was golfing as of yesterday, and so whatever health issues he may have, they are not keeping him from getting out and swinging a club at age 79. Second, none of these net diagnosticians are medical doctors with an opportunity to examine him and get a full history, and so they are at best informed guesses. That being said, it is worth noting the changes and the exploding questions about Trump’s health, some of which are surely due to the fact that Trump has given every indication that he will die in office, with many hoping that it is sooner rather than later.

Off to the electric “Xitter” machine we go (And by the way, “X” is dead, social media on that site is a cesspool. Without ever signing up to follow a single one, a timeline is now infused with total MAGA crap getting in the way of one’s follows.) Up first, new bruising on Trump’s “left” hand – that’s entirely new.

Everyone suspects that Donald Trump is on blood thinners which – according to the doctors, is not unusual at his age, nor is just bruising just to bruise. Not a single one of us is getting younger, so interest in his health is warranted, but mocking the aging process is never a good look. Even shittalk about diapers ignores the fact that many of us will face the same issue at some point. Likely, some of our readers have similar issues. It is cheap. But interest in Trump’s possible failing health is different and looks to be one of the few legitimate ways back to democracy, at least as an initial step. Speaking of steps, there is also the reappearance of the right foot drag.

Now that one has been present since the first term, and thus might well be a bit less indicative of anything. It is a little bit more interesting in that it seems to come and go. This all follows a week in which Trump looked absolutely terrible in the Oval Office Friday.

It is legitimate to point out that he spent the last week going to Alaska, meeting with seemingly all of Europe, sending troops in, and all that. It is far less legitimate when one considers that he has a bedroom on the plane itself, the meetings lasted only half a day, and he continues to golf and make good on terrifying threats.

Many of us spent an entire first term chronicling predictions of his demise over dementia and neuro conditions, and so there is a need to point out that he is still here and still in it enough to protect himself above all else. But the fact that his health is making big news is also worth covering, so that you see it here without having to brave the entrails of Xitter.

Does it amount to anything? Impossible to tell, but the symptoms are starting to pile up: the swollen ankles – indicative of a vascular issue, the bruising, some might say a weird gait, and the increasingly obvious periods where he phases out. So it is becoming worth following. Just remember the caveats, too.

Speaking of caveats and considerations, one wonders just how many drugs go into that system to keep him upright, then rested, upright, then rested… Now that would be worth coverage. But if you thought the Epstein matter was buried deep…

    • We have iron-clad proof that people care more about his failing health than any other issue these days, with the possible exception of Epstein.

  1. Seeing him today – it’s hard to remember he really is a sexual predator and kid rapist. But hey….he’s now wanting to get into heaven.

  2. Jason, a couple of comments:

“Second, none of these net diagnosticians are medical doctors with an opportunity to examine him and get a full history, and so they are at best informed guesses.”

And none of those “net diagnosticians” who CONTINUALLY spent time “diagnosing” President Biden’s many “issues” were medical doctors who had the chance to “examine him and get a full history” but those little inconvenient facts didn’t matter to the right-wingers who lapped up every single “diagnosis.”

“Not a single one of us is getting younger, so interest in his health is warranted, but mocking the aging process is never a good look. Even shittalk about diapers ignores the fact that many of us will face the same issue at some point.”

Sure, that’s all well and good but, at the same time, I seriously doubt any of US are going around posting AI-generated images of us as literal superheroes or retweeting/liking posts that depict us looking 40 (or more) years younger than our actual ages and in better condition than we were at the prime of our lives. And I don’t recall ever seeing Barack Obama or Joe Biden ever indulging in such vainglorious manners (hell, there are genuine Hollywood celebrities who are far more self-effacing when it comes to their images than Drumpf is).

    • Earlier Ursula hinted the possibility of him with Dorian Gray Syndrome: a key feature is the afflicted thinks they are the youngest in the orbit of their universe, but actually, they are the oldest, aged, faded dim star.

    • Your point is well taken.

As for the diagnosis, I agree that it was done to Biden and that’s precisely why I always use caution in discussing what the medical experts think. I believe they were mostly wrong about Biden (see cancer) and so it’s important for us to remain accurate and not worry about payback.

The point about him posting images as Superman is also good. I just prefer not to use my time running to the bottom, especially on issues that may impact readers, too. I don’t do it out of fairness to him, but more just how I prefer to use my time in addressing all these things.

  3. I’m ten years younger than Trump and suffer from some of the same chronic health issues. We both also have health problems that are NOT mutual. I understand your belief that mocking some of Trump’s infirmities/issues opens a person to charges of ageism. Most of the time I’d agree with you.

I also would wager that we agree when it comes to public official’s private lives, and in particular their sex lives it’s no one’s business but that politician’s and their spouse. UNLESS the have made a career out of being paragons of virtue and fidelity, and or are “straight” as they condemn anyone who is not. I for one say at that point, if they turn out to be lying, as in having a gay side, or cheating on their partners or of course sex with underage partners then every bit of scorn that can be mustered should be heaped on them.

Trump spent the entire 2020 campaign mocking Joe Biden’s health and vigor. Including nicknames like Sleepy Joe. Before breaking his foot in a bicycle mishap while President (and being a dumbass and not sticking to his rehab plan) Biden had a spring in his step and if Trump dared to play him literally could have run circles around Trump’s fat orange ass.

But Trump led a huge chorus of questioning and openly mocking Biden’s mental AND physical fitness. From where I sit he deserves to have to take what he dished out. If I’m not mistaken you are a lawyer by training. Even if like Ursula you never practiced you know basics of courtroom procedure. One side calls a witness and asks questions on direct examination. While there are exceptions cross-examination is limited to dealing with what was testified to on “direct.” However sometimes one side makes a mistake or their witness does during the proceeding that “opens the door” to a whole new lines of questions that can be asked on cross.

Trump opened the damned door on his health. Yes, to a degree that mocking his clear physical infirmities and trouble just walking 20-30 feet from one point to another, to his ghastly complexion whether he’s painted orange or pale and looking like death warmed over on the golf course, to hiding incontinence issues with adult diapers or a catheter draining into a leg bag all of it is fair game. He and others have mercilessly attacked Joe Biden for simply changing to walking slowly and deliberately. They HOWL if the outlines of adult diapers were visible on Biden, or a leg bag colletcing urine!

So I don’t think I will refrain from mocking Trump. He’s brought it on himself.

  4. I saw a video online with actual doctors, that said the odd gait where one leg is swung in a semi-circle is a symptom of front temporal dementia. They said the right leg swinging like it does causes him to veer gradually to the left. At which time he overcorrects, which explains the weaving on the red carpet. With his displays of mental acuity and the fact his father died of dementia, I think their opinion is pretty spot on.
