It’s been a bad week for Trump and a worse one for ketchup bottles and the wall against they’ve been thrown. Still, given how hard he tried to overshadow the marvelous ceremonial opening of the Obama Presidential Center having a relative, even one with in-law status in Chicago reveling in the festivities has to be eating at Trumpty’s ego like acid. Yet there Karlie Kloss, wife of Joshua Kushner (Jared’s little brother) was having a ball!
As Chris Farley’s Tommy Boy character would say, ‘That’s gonna leave a mark!’:
Oh how I wish the SNL alum Farley was still with us. He’d have made the perfect Trump impersonator and provoked multiple and epic Trump meltdowns every week. Well, there are others who can effectively troll Trump and some yesterday did so magnificently without ever saying his name, at best only hinting who they were talking about during clear comparisons between Obama and Trump.
Trump in-law and supermodel Karlie Kloss wasn’t part of the actual ceremonies. But she was present and enjoyed the hell out of herself. More infuriatingly for Trump, according to reporting from The Daily Beast, Kloss showered praise on the former President:
A member of Donald Trump’s extended family has heaped praise on one of the president’s greatest political foes.
On Thursday, Karlie Kloss, who is married to Joshua Kushner—the younger brother of Jared Kushner—shared a notable Instagram post declaring her support for former President Barack Obama.
Oh but that’s not all folks.
Kloss, 33, posted photos of herself attending the celebration marking the opening of the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago. She not only paid tribute to the former president but also revealed she had taken part in the project two years earlier, when she “signed one of the final beams” used to complete the construction.
“To be here today, witnessing the doors fully open was magical – a true representation of American dreams and values,” the American supermodel and entrepreneur wrote, thanking the Obama family and sharing a photo of herself shaking hands with the former president as they smiled.

The linked article then wryly notes “The Kushner brothers and their partners are not aligned on politics.” Wannabe (I think she’s trying to worm her way back into daddy’s girl status) Princess Ivanka has always been less open on support for a handful of progressive causes. Kloss has never been shy about her strong progressive leanings and has a history of putting action to her beliefs. I’ve always been clueless about the whole ‘it” crowd and without a caption couldn’t have picked her out in a photo lineup. So, I looked her up on Wikipedia. Yes, Kloss has bona fide progressive credentials going back a long way. Can you imagine Wannabe Princess Ivanka helping out as an escort at an abortion clinic?
Anyway while her husband Joshua Kushner didn’t dive into the first Trump administration and is apparently more moderate than his brother Jared he’s got more than a toe in the water lately. Joshua is involved in a business deal big bro set up with the DOD. Well, it wouldn’t be the first marriage that seems to work despite political differences between spouses. Just look at James Carville and Mary Matalin all those years.
In any case if I were Karlie and Joshua I’d be making my own plans for Thanksgiving and the ensuing holidays later this year. Trump won’t forget, much less forgive her openly supporting Obama on a day he, the TRUMP tried so hard to overshadow.
