In a functioning democracy – which we don’t have – Justice Thomas would be impeached, and Ginni Thomas would have lost the right to head up political action groups, which are often charitable organizations, or – at least, not subject to taxes. But, as said, that requires a functioning democracy that goes by the letter of the Constitution.
One would hope that this revelation by the Washington Post would lead to the quick and non-partisan impeachment of Thomas. But fck if the GOP is giving up their “Auto-Conservative” seat to be filled by Joe Biden.

A little-known conservative activist group led by Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, collected nearly $600,000 in anonymous donations to wage a cultural battle against the left over three years, a Washington Post investigation found.
The previously unreported donations to the fledgling group Crowdsourcers for Culture and Liberty were channeled through a right-wing think tank in Washington that agreed to serve as a funding conduit from 2019 until the start of last year, according to documents and interviews. The arrangement, known as a “fiscal sponsorship,” effectively shielded from public view details about Crowdsourcers’ activities and spending, information it would have had to disclose publicly if it operated as a separate nonprofit organization, experts said.
And that is how it is done. People specialize in setting these things up because, well, they’re needed. The culture war’s troops won’t line themselves up and organize without direction from the top, this time by a SCOTUS’s wife.
Now, I’ll challenge you. Go speak to your local magistrate judge. The type that handles small claims, misdemeanors, and things like that. They fill out financial disclosures which include the spouse’s income. Ask them if they’d allow their wives to head up such an obvious political organization with that kind of funding. The VAST majority would go white in the face, knowing that would be the end of their career, possibly losing their bar license to even practice after they’re kicked off the bench.
The Post’s investigation sheds new light on the role money from donors who are not publicly identified has played in supporting Ginni Thomas’s political advocacy, long a source of controversy. The funding is the first example of anonymous donors backing her activism since she founded a conservative charity more than a decade ago. She stepped away from that charity amid concerns that it created potential conflicts for her husband on hot-button issues before the court.
Only when caught. She stepped away only when caught and when people really started talking about why she was texting Mark Meadows… Only when caught. He knew. She knew. She knows who these “anonymous” donors are, and likely so does he.
A real functioning democracy would get rid of both of them.

If we don’t rid ourselves of republicans-ALL of them-we will never have a functioning s.c. nor will we have a functioning democracy. That said a good start down that path would be getting uncle tom off of the bench. NOW
She and Clarence need to retire from public life. Permanently. Preferably to hermitages.
No. Retire to jail would be more appropriate. Exile would be OK.
Just one more proof of what outstandingly moral, upright people Justice Thomas and Mrs. Thomas are! They never, ever discussed any of this! Ginny kept it all to herself and Justice Thomas was entirely unaware of it! Which is what you would expect, since he had to give all his attention to the pursuit of justice in ever SC case! Because that’s the way our democratic system works! So great that we can see democracy in action!
