Not a great day in Trump world. Charlie Kirk, the man who said in essence that death by gunfire was the price we pay for the Second Amendment, was shot dead in one of the reddest states in America. A suspect was immediately apprehended but he was later released after having been charged with obstruction of justice. No details are available and I’m quoting from the New York Times.
The Times also reports that a second individual is now in custody as a person of interest. So that’s pretty much the banner story in Trump world — unless you want to talk about Nancy Mace’s boob job and she hopes you will, so that she can feel relevant. But the next banner story in line, as breaking news this very day, is that Elon Musk is no longer the richest man in the world. That title is held by Oracle’s Larry Ellison who trump’s Musk’s $383 billion fortune with a larger one of $393 billion.
Ellison’s net worth grew a massive $101 billion Wednesday morning to $393 billion, surpassing Musk’s $385 billion fortune, according to Bloomberg.
The surge in Ellison’s wealth comes after Oracle’s stock soared 40 percent Wednesday.
The company reported earnings late Tuesday, touting several multibillion-dollar contracts that are expected to result in $455 billion in future revenue.
“It was an astonishing quarter—and demand for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure continues to build,” Oracle CEO Safra Catz said in a statement.
Catz added that the cloud company plans to sign up several more multibillion-dollar customers in the next few months, which could push its remaining performance obligations above $500 billion.
She also laid out an ambitious forecast for Oracle’s cloud infrastructure division, with the company expecting a 77 percent increase in revenue to $18 billion in fiscal year 2026.
It further anticipates cloud infrastructure revenue will grow to $32 billion, $73 billion, $114 billion and $144 billion over the following four years.
Musk, who has held the title of the world’s richest person for nearly a year, saw his net worth surge to a peak of $486 billion last December.
However, his wealth declined significantly earlier this year, as his government work weighed heavily on his companies, most notably Tesla.

The “patsy boomer” they’re referencing was in custody about half an hour and released. But I mention it because this is how conspiracy theories start. There’s some trigger incident and then the rumors fly, minutae is presented as solid fact and away we go.
Musk has had the apex of his moment in the sun, insofar as politics and being an influencer are concerned. DOGE disintegrated. A lot of money dissipated. And frankly, Elon, nobody gives a damn about you anymore. You’re a political has been. But you do have one distinction: you may not be the World’s Richest Man anymore but you are indubitably the World’s Foremost BRA (Boring Rich Asshole.) We hope that’s some consolation.

It’s kind of funny but there are already MORONS on Twitter who are claiming that “South Park”s recent episode, “Got a Nut” (which aired about a month ago) which featured Cartman adopting Kirk’s style (after being upstaged by another character) and of which Kirk APPROVED (even going so far as to adopt Cartman’s Kirk-like image as an avatar for a couple of weeks), should be held responsible for Kirk’s death.
