The Trumps are all high rollers. Eric and Donald Junior went on a pub crawl in tiny Doonbeg, when they were vacationing on the taxpayers’ dime in Ireland. They made the magnanimous gesture of buying the entire house rounds of drinks, but at the end of the night, walked out without laying down so much as a tuppence. Irish Mirror

“They thanked everyone for their support and for coming out to meet them and said there was a drink for everyone in the house and it was their small gesture.”

“They’re loving the reception they are getting. When they came into the pub they said they wouldn’t get this welcome in New York.”

That is a statement of fact. So, the Trump sons merrily played around, pulling drinks behind the bar and playing the role of generous guests and benevolent aristocrats, let’s hear it for noblesse oblige. And that lasted until the end of the night when their true nature came out and they skipped out without paying the check.

…Mrs Kennedy [owner] said she isn’t sure how much the bill came to and joked the brothers didn’t carry any cash.

When asked how it was paid for she said: “We’ll get the money later we were told there’d be no fear of it.

“I don’t think we’ve to worry about getting paid for that. I don’t think they carry cash. We were told it’d be all sorted later so there’s no problem.

So spaketh any number of Trump contractors and they’re still waiting. Oh, well. Maybe the owner of the funeral home in Clare that rented Trump four limos to the tune of $116,000 per mile can kick down the bar bill to the lady. God knows s/he made a killing on the Trumps — at U.S. taxpayers’ expense, of course.

It must be a fascinating experience to live a consequence-free life and somebody else always picks up the tab. Damn, that must be something. No wonder these airheads conduct themselves as they do. Life on life’s terms is for the yous and mes and fair play in life or in business is a thought that has never entered their minds. They don’t live by any rules or any standards that the common man or woman knows, yet they publish books and go on television telling us all how to be in the world — as if they had the slightest idea. I would love to watch how Eric or Junior would function without Daddy’s backfield. That would be a reality show I would tune in to watch. “The Trump Boys Go To Work.” I doubt if they’d make it until noon of the same day. And if they went out later for a beer and didn’t pay the check they’d go to jail.

  1. When I read this in the IrishTimes last evening, I wondered what this behavior boded for Trump’s Doonbeg golf course. I can’t imagine it being benign.

    • The golf course is already losing money and Doonbeg s a tiny little place in County Claire. I don’t think that this did any good for public relations. I understand that Trump wants the Irish government to build a sea wall or some such to protect the golf course, but if I had to make book on that I wouldn’t hold out high hopes.

      • Why on earth would the Trump property need a sea wall? Sea levels are not rising and there’s no such thing as global warming, right?

        • You know, these Chinese hoaxes are tricky. You have to know how to deal with them. Luckily, we have a guy who is so totally with it, he has only the best ideas about the best hoaxes.

  2. They probably heard the totals don’t carry money.
They ignore the fact that the totals entourage do carry it and don’t let folks get stiffed!
Or maybe the boys aren’t allowed credit cards either?

    • I never heard the phrase “the totals” used to apply to the Trumps. What am I missing here? New slang in the world and I’m too busy blogging to have heard it?

  3. Why are you ridiculing the trump crime family for being criminal-like? After all, if Americans were REALLY bothered by donald and his corrupt cabal, they’d be in the streets demanding his immediate impeachment. Instead, you have anemic impotent articles like this. TV journalism is no better. All the pundits do is whine and bitch about the trump cabal’s latest insult to Democracy or their latest corrupt action. I even hate writing this. When are we going to PUSH Pelosi and her sellouts OUT and then move quickly to impeach this fascist dictator of a fake president?

    • Americans ARE in the streets demanding his impeachment. I spoke with a fellow zoomer (that being the designation for afficionados of PolitiZoom) yesterday and he invited me to demonstrate at the Van Nuys court house this morning. I told him I wasn’t recovered enough from my surgery to stand around like that, but would make another demonstration, another time — and there are plenty.

We all do our part and what I can do now, and for the past couple of years due to health problems (which are improving, I happily note) is sit here and write.

But I get your anger and frustration. Please keep coming back, as they say in AA. And I will both get out in the streets, and keep ridiculing the Trump crime family, as conditions permit. (I’m assuming your question was personal, maybe you only meant it as rhetorical.) Seriously, transmitting information is a part of getting rid of Trump — and I agree more action is needed beyond the writing of blogs. It is happening.

    • Everyone I know agrees that Trump must be impeached, but it will be impossible to do that as long as Republicans have the majority in the Senate.

      • This is why Pelosi hesitates. Although I did read an article (and I may do some research on this and write a piece) that said that a lot of the House investigations may be hamstrung if the Democrats don’t impeach, because short of impeachment proceedings, they may not be able to obtain the documents they seek. This is a worrisome development.

  4. “four limos to the tune of $116,000 per mile” – WTF????
    Every day gets more absurd!
And guess who will end up paying that pub tab? Yep, you and me, the US Taxpayers.
Yesterday is not soon enough for all things trump to be trashed in the dump!

    • Alice, if you didn’t read my post, “Irish PM Does Epic Troll….” read it now. It will explain more and link to the story in the Guardian.

And something needs to be done about Trump’s spending. We’ve picked up way too many tabs for him, for golf, security, when Melania stayed in New York with Barron, on and on. Now it’s limos and bar tabs.

      • I understand the cost to taxpayers for the Irish golf trip is $3.6 million. So far.
I’d have more sympathy for the tavern-keeper if she (I understand the owner is female) hadn’t allowed them to run wild in the place: would she do that with anyone else who came in and claimed to be rich and famous? (She’s apparently still a Tr*mpista after that, Ghu knows why.)

        • I wouldn’t call her a Trumpista necessarily. I’ve been to Ireland (I’m second generation American of Irish descent) and they are a very warm and accepting people. They’re very good hearted. So they welcomed the rich famous Americans and they got burned. The bottom line of the article in the Irish Times is that there’s been a lot of publicity on this matter, so Mrs. Kennedy expects that that fact will get her paid. Now, you and I know she’s being naive and she’ll most likely join the ranks of the ripped off, that are always swelling as long as there’s a Trump around.

    • The other way to look at it is that she’s a businesswoman and the circus had come to her small town and so she was going along with it. It probably never occurred to her that a family that brags about it’s enormous wealth would rip off a little bar in Doonbeg.

  5. Perfect, 2 grifter sons of a grifter papa. Post the unpaid bills above the bar get a clear photo and send a copy to every newspaper in Eire and ask all Irish pub owners to demand cash up front for any transaction, and if they bitch show them the picture.

    • Great idea except the grifters split as grifters do. Who knows when they’ll be back, if ever? What is stupid, though, is that this can’t bode well for Trump’s golf course in Doonbeg, but then this is the way he does business. He runs something into the ground, abandons it, and moves on to the next scam. America is just the object of Trump’s biggest scam to date. Incredible but true.

  6. Hey u… Great words. Murfs wife here. They don’t give a rat’s ass. Just like their father. They don’t care that they may be hurting someone who needs a paycheck or someone who needs money to run their establishment. Great words.

    • Hey Teri! Thank you for dropping in! Please keep coming over here as a regular practice. The irony of Trump is that he’s got this “friend of the working man” scam going, when his track record is actually about stiffing the working man. Trump talks about hoaxes and fake news, there is no greater hoax or faker than him.
