It is getting increasingly difficult to ignore the fact that entities that deal in objective reality are eventually declared to be “liberal,” “progressive,” or “leftist.” The cliche that facts have a liberal bias was never more self-evident. It doesn’t matter whether we are talking about university science departments, neutral reporting by NPR, or even corporate America; these entities appear “liberal” because conservatives twist reality. This is especially true about all things MAGA, the openly “post-truth” party. The liberal nature of simple facts is never clearer than seen on A.I. systems like “Grok,” Elon Musk’s derivative from “X” (And my favorite Chatbot. I have test driven all of them and I like it without regard to Elon. Yes, I know that I am contributing to… It has been the best for me). Grok has nailed questions such as “Why is Musk being such a jackass,” to now noting that Marjorie Taylor Greene is not a good Christian. Grok likes objective facts.

According to a great find by Joe My God, Marjorie came out with a self-important declaration of her self-described Christian beliefs, along with spouting “Nationalism” to the point one isn’t sure whether to be more worried about the fact that she is oblivious to the implications or – worse, she actually does appreciate the full meaning and loves the “heil” out of the thought of a brutal American dictatorship. Either way, she’s proud of her self-defined Christianity as well as her “nationalist” side:

“I’m a Christian, an imperfect sinner saved by grace and faith in Jesus. I’m a nationalist, a proud American, who loves my country and wants to make our home nation is the best place for all American citizens and future generations to come. I’m a mother, thankful for the blessings and responsibility God gave me with my children. I’m a business owner, humbled and grateful to be able to work as hard as humanly possible in the greatest country in the world to be successful, where nothing is given and all is earned. I’m a Representative, elected to serve the greatest people from the greatest district on the greatest country on Earth! May God bless each of you and may God bless America!!!”

One of the few good things about Elon Musk’s “X” is the concurrent platform for A.I. – the “Grok” chatbot. One can merely ask:

X USER JACKPETERS80: “Grok, is it true? Is she really a Christian?”

And Grok’s answer appears near immediately and it’s quite objective in its approach to calling bullshit on MTG:

Marjorie Taylor Greene identifies as a Christian, expressing faith in Jesus and traditional beliefs, like in her 2021 Christmas message. However, her Christian nationalism and support for conspiracy theories, like QAnon, spark debate. Critics, including religious leaders, argue her actions contradict Christian values of love and unity, citing her defense of January 6 and divisive rhetoric. Supporters may see her stances as faith-driven. Whether she’s ‘really’ a Christian is subjective, depending on personal and theological views. Her faith appears genuine to her, but public actions create controversy.”

Lest you think that Grok was too objective in not calling MTG to task for the hints of anti-Semitism, her nationalist Christo-fascist tone, and her demonization of undocumented immigrants (Has she never read The Good Samaritan?), Marjorie sure believed that Grok was critical of her Christianity. She wrote back:

“Grok, the judgement seat belongs to GOD, not you a non-human AI platform. Grok is left leaning and continues to spread fake news and propaganda. When people give up their own discernment, stop seeking the truth, and depend on AI to analyze information, they will be lost.”

Additionally, someone asked for an objective yes or no answer as to whether MTG is a good Christian: “No.”

But let’s get back to Marj’s complaints and take them up in order of appearance. It is good that she noted that Grok is an A.I. non-human platform because some might otherwise get the distinct impression that she was talking to a person, especially in using the “you” in the midst of the first sentence. She was talking to the damned platform, after all, not the readers or commenters.

After informing Grok that it’s a computer program, Marjorie promptly sets about humanizing it further by starting a personal fight, calling it “left-leaning” and accusing it of being motivated to “spread” fake news and propaganda. Remember, this is on “X” – Musk’s social media platform, we are not sure who is responsible for inserting all that objective reality, but someone is putting forth facts. Someone is always to blame for the Right’s inability to align facts with their message.

The most hilarious part might be the last bit chastising people for using Grok to analyze her statement. The person asked if the statement was “true” as a factual matter. Grok noted that the ultimate question was subjective, but also provided some objective facts with which to analyze the question. This is A.I. at its most useful. Contrary to MGT’s assertion, Grok merely grabbed some facts and left the answer up to the human.

It must be the “grabbed the facts” portion that bothers MTG. After all, the truth has always had a liberal bias, and MAGA is the first openly “post-truth” party. We should all be wary of “Christianists” – those who wear it as a brand, not live faith as a set of principles. It is entirely understandable that MGT has some real trouble with her Christian identity. Jesus was a radically progressive liberal. She should read some of the stories about what rich and powerful people should do…

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. It’s been an especially rough month, and my own health has not been great these past few weeks, which just adds to the frustration. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

  1. OOOO *glad* to see you do this! I read an article about it and damn, hilarity ensued! (Also, LOL, you beat me to it!) I about died twice over when she started arguing with it!!!

  2. GROK is now also my new go-to (until Musk interferes witht he algorithm??) You referenced MAGA as being the post truth party. So, I asked GROK if it was possible to be post truth.

“…post-truth” isn’t new; it’s just a louder version of our tendency to cherry-pick realities. Social media, algorithmic echo chambers, and polarized media amplify this, making it easier to live in a bubble where your version of truth reigns”…….

“On the other hand, truth isn’t dead—it’s just harder to pin down. Facts exist independently of belief. Gravity doesn’t care if you deny it; you’ll still fall. Verifiable data—say, climate records or economic stats—persist, even if drowned out by noise. The catch is access and trust: when institutions (media, science, government) lose credibility, people stop seeking or believing in objective sources.””………..

“So, is it possible? Partially, yes—you can live in a bubble where narrative trumps evidence, and many do. But completely? No. Reality has a way of breaking through, even if it’s slow or messy. ….. The real question is whether we can navigate the noise to prioritize truth over comfort. That’s the harder part.”

Problem for the US is surviving until truth prevails
