There is so much Furkids want to tell you this week that I was wondering how we would cram it all into one column! But with a little help from their Auntie Denise over at Creative Sprints, they knew what would work.
The event that so animated them this week was the fabulous results produced by the US elections on Tuesday. They reminded me that they had forecast the devastation that the new regime would cause and advised Americans and their supporters worldwide to use their voices to counteract the depredation. Your voice is your power, and as more voices unite, that power multiplies.
The right to vote is the opportunity to utilise your personal power. American voters used the power of their combined voices at ballot boxes in ten states. It was an overwhelming victory for democracy and a rejection of the regime. Now, the Furkids, enthused, is a time for celebration and a renewal of their message: you are the voice; you are the power to be the change you want to see.
On January 1st this year, the Furkids chose an inspiring song. It was an exhortation to the people to use the power of their voice. It’s also an iconic exclamation point in Australian music and, therefore, a fitting way to also celebrate Australian Music Month this November. They are reprising this song not only as a reminder of its message, but also as a celebration of what was achieved on Tuesday, the 4th of November, 2025.
