Sometimes a person can’t help but marvel at how ludicrous things can get.  It’s not like politics hasn’t provided people in democracies all over the world countless opportunities throughout history to look at leaders and say “What?  What the hell?  Is this for real?  These are the people in charge?”  Well my friends, we are living through an extended period of it and there’s no sign the crazy is ebbing.  In fact, it keeps upping its game.

Our latest installment involves (to no one’s surprise I’m sure) the laborious Marjorie Taylor Greene, GOP Representative of a district filled with people who are certifiable.  After all her antics in her first term, she was re-elected in 2022.  Now, a Republican winning in her district was pretty much a given but she easily won a primary against someone who at least was on the correct side of the dividing line between bat-sh!t insane rabid circus animal act and RWNJ.  You know all about her, and a helluva lot more than you wish you did so I won’t go into how cray she is and always has been.

However, she’s now been denounced by a top GA Republican Party official who was part of an election denying group of GA GOPers that took their state Party’s election of officers by storm (storm trooper?). One of them is a fellow named Brian K. Pritchard who was recently elected to the position of First Vice-Chair of the Georgia GOP.  Never heard of him?  Neither had I although I suppose folks from GA had.  He’d run for state elective office.  And he was “bigly” into election denial so that got his name out there in the “Peach Tree Dish” state too.  He also got some name recognition because there were stories in the newspapers in Georgia about his being charged with illegally voting NINE times!

Yep.  The dude’s a convicted felon having pled guilty in Pennsylvania in 1996 to two counts of forgery and one count of theft.   He was accused of authorities in GA when of illegally voting in nine elections over a span of three years.  He registered to vote in Georgia in 2008 and his probation didn’t end until 2011.  Each time he voted while still on probation he committed Election Fraud.  A felony.

Funny thing, (well, not funny at all) a black gal who was on probation and was mistakenly told she could register and vote got five years for doing the same thing just one single time.  However THIS dude, this good ole boy, a radio host who just happens to be WHITE kept doing his show, running for office and not getting into the legislature got himself into (GOP) Party leadership even though he voted while on probation NINE times.  And though I’ve looked he hasn’t actually been tried, much less convicted and sent to jail.  Pritchard committed forty-five years worth of felonies, yet doesn’t seem to have spent even 45 minutes in lockup, much less 45 months in prison.  And forty-five years?  Hey, he “didn’t know” it was illegal for him to vote while on probation!  Honest!  Of course, the fact that the election folks who helped the black woman register and vote and admitted they’d made a mistake & it wasn’t her fault got ignored and she was sentenced to five years.  The “good” conservative “god fearing” (? – I’ve never understood that sentiment) rose up in indignation with their “Ignorance is no excuse for breaking the law!!!!!” righteous anger.  And found her Guilty, Guilty by god GUILTY!

Hmmm.  You’d almost think race played a part…

So anyway we have this NOT paragon of virtue, a radio host now GA GOP Party honcho who uses his show to promote Trump’s Big Lie, who is a convicted felon, and who hasn’t had to answer for nine felonies (election fraud only matters to GOPers if NON-Gopers do it!) trashing a fellow Georgian who sure as hell isn’t one either.  Because in Pritchard’s mind MTG committed an unforgivable sin.  She sided with Kraven McCarthy in the debt ceiling fight.  Oh, and she called fellow GOPer Bobo the Colorado Clown a “little b!tch” on the House floor.  I have no doubt that MTG could stand in the well of the House and with the C-SPAN cameras recording it for prosperity call Nancy Pelosi, or any member of “The Squad” the C-word and he’d have no problem with it.  Hell, he’d use the footage for fundraising.  But I digress.

I do however enjoy it when GOPers go after each other.  The more time they spend denigrating each other the less time they have for doing actual damage to our country.  Still, the GOP’s devolvement into a drunken, brawling trailer park version of a block party isn’t perhaps a good thing in the broader picture.  But this folks is your Trump/MAGA GOP.

Only the “best” people.

  1. It is always a good thing when gqp’rs tear each other to pieces on the campaign trail. I’m convinced some people, few tho’ they may be, re-think their political choices when they’re convinced their party choices are indeed bat-sh!t crazy. In the short term it makes no difference. Long term however? Maybe. Kids/teens/young adults watch/read/listen to this sh!t too. Perhaps they will be wiser than their parents. They certainly can’t be stupider. I know, I keep seeing the bottom of the stupidity barrel and it just might not have a bottom.

  2. Equal Justice Under Law????? Anyone who believes that is a phucking moron. FACT. The propaganda has been going on almost 250 years! I can hardly stomach the faux patriotism when lemmings stand for the national anthem with hands over hearts. I no longer watch the ongoing lies if I can avoid it. Until the reality matches the hype…forgettaboutit.

  3. It must be true then. Failure equals success, how else did we end up with TFG? from the biggest loser to the biggest traitor. And still yelling who he is.
