I gotta tell you, this J6 committee has been so much worse than the GOP caucus ever even imagined. At this point I can’t help but wonder if McConnell and McCarthy don’t wish that they had just told Trump to Fuck off! and let the independent commission do the dirty work.
Here’s why. The independent commission that Pelosi proposed would have equal GOP and Democratic representation, 6 of each, with no current serving congress critters on the commission, and an independent Chair for the committee. The GOP members would have had full subpoena rights, and best of all for the GOP, the commission would be required to turn in its final report by 12/31/2021, 11 months before the midterm elections.
McConnell and McCarthy made a basic, now fatal miscalculation. When Pelosi formed the committee, they decided that it would be right along the lines of a typical GOP totally partisan committee, like Benghazi, making it easy for the GOP to refuse to participate, and then slam the committee as a Partisan witch hunt.
But Pelosi pulled an end around and got moderate GOP representatives Adam Kinzinger and Liz Cheney to the panel. But that didn’t do the most damage. After all, the GOP could just slam them as RINO’s anyway. What killed McCarthy, McConnell and the GOP was the way the committee proceeded about its business.
The GOP thought that Thompson and the Democratic controlled committee would act like Republicans, and stack the witness deck with Democratic friendly expert witness to testify as to what a dick Trump was. And instead, there hasn’t been a single Democratic friendly witness. Instead, the committee has stuffed their witness list with former Trump staffers, and career Republicans who went with the side of the angels. Go ahead, try calling them RINO’s.
And Thursday night will be more of the same. On Thursday night, the committee will hear from two former west wing employees, both of whom were in the west wing on January 6th, and both of whom resigned in protest either that day or the day after. They will be critical in filling in the blanks as to what Trump was doing for that 187 minutes during the Capitol riot. After all, they were right there, and what they saw and heard led them to resign on the spot.
The GOP can’t survive this onslaught. A recent poll showed that 66% of Americans were either sure, or mostly sure that Traitor Tot had engineered the J6 Capitol riot in order to maintain control of the presidency. And you have 100+ GOP House members as well as 7 GOP Senators who voted on the side of the seditionists. How do you besmirch the testimony of lifelong GOP politicians as liars?
The good news is that just now, on MSNBC, congressman Adam Schiff confirmed that Thursday’s hearing will mark the end of the first set of J6 congressional hearings. But he also teased additional sets of hearings as more information becomes available. These hearings are the gift that just keeps on giving.
Bring it, J6 Committee!! I’d love to be a fly on the wall at Mara-Lago or however the hell it’s spelled on Thursday during the Hearing. Trump might need a couple changes of his tidy whitey’s!! Popcorn ready!! 🙂

Fly on the wall? I think there’s safer places like under the table as the fine china decorates the room. I understand the voyeurism. To see him beet red in the face, spewing bits of food in a rage would be a form of sick fun. The facial color change from orange would be refreshing also. Stay away from the walls. Move to the light. Ha.

Indeed, there was no shame. But there was something – possibly awareness about the degree to which they aere looked at as shameful by the rest of the worlds? Anyway, something caused them to pass around suicide capsules like candy.
