I don’t know what we’ll do for entertainment when Mike Lindell is out of the picture, but I guess we’ll find out then. Lindell is taking the posture that he is the victim here, and he is the perpetrator. Dominion didn’t defame Lindell, Lindell defamed Dominion. And it’s not just Lindell on this sinking ship, he’s there with co-defendants Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell. Look to this to be a howler. I predict this is going to end up as a key case in the Tort law books of the future under Defamation. They’ll put it there for comic relief if nothing else. Insider:
Dominion Voting Systems said this week in a court filing that there was no “realistic possibility” that it would settle its $1.3 billion defamation lawsuit with MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell and the pro-Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell.
The company made its position clear in a new filing Monday night as part of the company’s lawsuits against the trio for pushing an array of conspiracy theories about the election-technology company’s role in the 2020 election.
“Given the devastating harm to Plaintiffs, the lack of remorse shown by Defendants, and the fact that many of them continue to double down on their lies, Plaintiffs do not believe any realistic possibility of settlement exists,” lawyers for the company wrote in the filing.
Lindell’s attorneys are using every stall tactic in the books. They won’t produce documents, they’re dodging scheduled conferences and they’re waiting for an appeal to be adjudicated, knowing that it will flop like the rest. What is the net effect of all this? Delay. Nothing more than delay. They are postponing the inevitable.
And while they’re doing that, the lawyers get paid, which makes them happy and Lindell gets to live in his la la land for another day, where it’s all butterflies and balloons and he and Trump will ride down Pennsylvania Avenue together on their way to Trump’s homecoming.
It’s like demanding that the guillotine be painted a different color. Swell, if you think that will matter. It’s going to whack your head off all the same.
In the same filing, lawyers representing Powell and Giuliani reiterated their positions that their claims about Dominion’s role in the election didn’t meet the legal standard for defamation.
“Powell and Giuliani are open to settlement discussions once discovery is complete and Dominion realizes that its claims are without merit and that it has no damages legally attributable to Powell and Giuliani,” the filing said. “Powell and Giuliani have nothing to show remorse for and dispute that they have lied about anything.”
The claims were made in a joint filing in which the parties proposed a schedule to US District Judge Carl J. Nichols, who is overseeing Dominion’s array of defamation lawsuits, to move the cases forward. In August, Nichols denied attempts from Powell, Giuliani, and Lindell to dismiss Dominion’s lawsuits against them. He later consolidated the case so they would move to trial together.
Lawyers for both Powell and Giuliani said in the filing that they planned to participate in discovery for the lawsuits, though Giuliani’s attorneys said the FBI was in possession of his digital files. The FBI raided his Manhattan apartment and office last year for a separate investigation into whether he broke lobbying laws.
Lindell has refused to participate in the discovery process. He told Insider on Tuesday night that he planned to appeal Nichols’ denial of his motion to dismiss the lawsuit all the way to the Supreme Court.

Yes, you read that and so did I. Mike Lindell is going to take the judge’s denial of his motion to dismiss all the way to the Supreme Court. And why not?? Obviously, Mike has had such vast success with the paperwork he’s submitted to them on other facets of this general issue, why would we believe that he would not prevail on this one aspect?
Why wasn’t there a Mike Lindell in public life when I was in law school? My Torts professor would have been peeing his pants over this case. And my Constitutional Law professor had a killer sense of humor and a British accent. What I wouldn’t give to turn back the clock and see what they would do with this material. Alas, the Tort professor has gone to the big law school in the sky and the Brit is back in his native home teaching at Oxford for a few more years until retirement.

Get ready, this is going to be the comedy show of 2022. I hope Dominion mops the courthouse floor with all of them. I truly do.
Let’s hope the judge is fed up with this shit. Lawyers dodging efforts to provide court ordered cooperation? Nuisance filings? I’m not a lawyer but if what I’ve seen reported is true then the judge has ample grounds to call those lawyers into court – with a formal summons if necessary. And tell them the bullshit stops NOW! Then tell them that each and every action that’s outside of the normal practice of law and standards will result in sanctions including sending a formal recommendation to any state Bar they are licensed by to investigate them and whether they can keep their licenses to practice law. That should end this crap real quick. I wonder who at SCOTUS would get any appeal filing? Each covers a specific circuit or two, and while an applellant can request going over the head of a Justice who says “no dice” to an appeal I don’t think in this case SCOTUS would make Lindell happen. In fact I rather suspect they don’t want that steaming pile of male bovine excrement anywhere near their hallowed chambers!
It’s in the trial court, and he can’t appeal to SCOTUS from there. Also, the current issue is him and his lawyers not following the procedures they agreed to, so it’s on them, not the people he’s trying to sue.
Bankrupt him. There’s no worse fate for a grifter. Well, maybe if he’s in a cell with only a pillow for comfort.
