I’ll be honest. Given stories I read a while back about how the value of Trump’s Truth Social had tanked I assumed Devin Nunes was long gone. His name hasn’t been in the news for a long time and I’ll bet you too assumed he’d quietly resigned, his silence bought with some make-work job somewhere far from Trump World. Well, it turns out he’s only now been officially tossed overboard. Ok, according to Politico he ‘resigned’ but let’s be real – Nunes got his butt fired and deservedly so.
Nunes left Congress to be CEO of Truth Social back in 2021. He hasn’t exactly done a bang-up job. Or perhaps if you think of ‘bang up’ in the sense of treating it like a car in a demolition derby he’s done great! In any case, Truth Social remains in the tank financially, losing money hand over fist. So, Nunes announced it was an “appropriate time” for Kevin McGurn to take over and “steer Trump Media through its current transition phase.” Sure Devin. I should note Nunes is the third top member of Truth Social’s ranks to ‘leave’ in recent weeks. Well, he’s always got his ersatz cow farm to fall back on…
As for Truth Social itself it’s still got its nose above water. Fat floats and Trumpty’s fat ass has been enough to keep it viable enough that he can post. However it’s little more than a blip on the social media radar. Trumpty created it because he’d gotten banned from Twitter. Even with that platform being bought by then best bud Elon Musk and rebranded as X, or Xitter (the X is pronounced Chinese style – as in sh) as I like to call it Trump is too proud to go back. In his mind Twitter was only successful because of HIM and it savaged his ego when it went right on along without him. He went and made his own toy, with all the craftsmanship of a toddler wielding a plastic hammer and a bunch of broken Legos. Which is why Truth Social has roughly 6.3 million subscribers vs. Xitter’s 388 million. You have to think at some point Musk needed Trumpty over THAT.
After going public a couple of years ago stock for Truth Social shot up in value and by the time of the 2024 election was worth many billions of dollars. Of course the whole thing including Trump’s promises about how ‘bigly’ it would become was smoke and mirrors and collapsed like a house of cards which has led to the current changes in management:

The company recorded a net loss of more than $712 million and revenues of $3.7 million in 2025. Trump Media shares have struggled all the while as well. The stock, which trades under the ticker “DJT,” closed at $9.82 on Tuesday — marking a more than 75 percent decline since Trump’s inauguration.
As for Nunes, he’ll be fine if he just shuts up and doesn’t go wild with the money he’s gotten working for Trump. He’s reported to have made over $42 million in 2025 alone. That could buy enough land for an awful lot of cows! Well, he had zero skills for the job he held which is probably why Trump hired him in the first place. In reality it was a payoff for all the intel Nunes fed Trump during his first term – and probably helped him steal on his way out of the White House.
Truth Social? Trump is sweet talking others and trying to use his (failing) crypto business as a lever to keep it going. Somehow he’ll find a way. It’s a forlorn hope that Musk would block people from reposting Trump’s Truth Social bullshit on Xitter but we can always hope. At least some of the “Tech Bros” aren’t so enamored of Trump anymore. Anyway Nunes is out, and his cow and all cows are running for the hills.

why would nunes have resigned from a job paying big bucks to do very little? the company was never meant to actually mske money other than from investors, at least they never made any real attempt to make a profit. and what is it transitioning to? bankruptcy? and where is that quote from? a challenge tosilicon valley giants? who, the king of incompetence? the next gem in his vast business empire… i don’t know about empire. that implies significant value which didn’t exist at the time. trump has hundreds of businesses, none of them gems. most don’t seem to do anything at all, some just move money around and some look very much like they are laundering money. probably 90% of trump’s wealth has accrued since he was reelected through bribes, selling crap to his cult and crypto ripoffs, again mostly to his cult.
