Say what you will about Donald Trump, he’s predictable. There is never any question what he will do on any given day. All you have to do is ask what action will feed his ego and his greed and voila. You know his plan. It is as simple as that.
Ivana Trump left this world yesterday and the depositions of Donald, Don Jr. and Ivanka were set to go forth today. New York attorney general Letitia James postponed them, because this is what decent people do, even for indecent people. WIS-TV:
The ex-president, son Donald Jr. and daughter Ivanka had been scheduled for depositions — a term for out-of-court questioning under oath — starting as soon as Friday. But New York Attorney General Letitia James’ office said it had agreed to postpone them because of Ivana Trump’s death, announced Thursday.
“We offer our condolences to the Trump family,” attorney general’s office spokesperson Delaney Kempner said in a statement.
The medical examiner’s office hasn’t released a cause of death. Two people familiar with the matter told The Associated Press that police are investigating whether Ivana Trump fell down the stairs and believe her death was accidental. The people could not discuss the matter publicly and spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity.

What a family. Dad and the kids are on the hot seat with the attorney general’s office, and she’s finally got them scheduled for a deposition, but then Mom falls down the stairs and breaks her neck (we presume) so that gets them off the hook at least for a little while, meanwhile Dad starts fundraising off of Mom’s death and then he decides to go to a rally in Arizona to fundraise some more. Only the Trumps. Only in America.
Hmm… WHAT could delay their depositions once all other delays have been exhausted……? Yet, that “grief” won’t interrupt the GRIFT! Once this excuse is exhausted, I wonder who’s next?
In all fairness, the kids probably are in shock. Trump himself could give a shit, but I’m sure the kids are upset by the sudden death of their mother. A sudden death is blunt trauma. As much as I hate all of these people, I still feel for the kids on a human level that it’s hard to lose a parent, especially suddenly.
I would agree w/ you, but we are talking about trumps. The kids have not exhibited any more empathy or compassion for anyone other than themselves, than has dear ol’ daddums.

Yes, it was an honorable and decent thing for James to postpone those depositions even though we all know damn good and well Trump himself felt nothing in his heart over his Trophy Wife #1’s death. If the three evil spawn he produced with Ivana had any feelings it was guilt over being shitty, greedy excuses for human beings that chose cushy, high pay with no work jobs and total loyalty to Trump over their mom. Who lest we forget was not just overbearing and abusive towards, but even raped and publicly humiliated carrying on his affair with Trophy Wife #2, even installing #2 in Trump Tower. (Oh, and word is that Maples was horrified at the infamous “Best sex I ever had!” headline – the source of which seems to have been “David Denison” or one of Trump’s other aliases. Wonder what he paid to get that one printed!) Maybe, just maybe they feel a little guilty today. But I wouldn’t bet on it.
Here’s the thing though. If Trump really does follow through and attend that fundraiser rally out in AZ tomorrow he’ll have spent ANY sympathy (as well as his evil spawn’s – not that he gives a fuck) when it comes to showing up damned quickly when summoned again. All James or her representative will have to do is point out to the judge who will hear the inevitable “How can James be so heartless and demanding? We need time to grieve! Weeks. Months even!” pleas in court is to hold up a phone and play some of Trump’s antics at his rally.
If there was any emotion at all down in Trump World when the death of Ivana Trump broke it was relief and the popping of champagne corks in celebration over the reprieve of having to show up and be sworn in for some very uncomfortable questioning under oath. And they might have milked it into some significant delay. But Trump’s gonna Trump and as you say there’s no way in hell he will pass on raising money and getting his eight-ball heroin dose style fix from an adoring crowd. And come Monday James needs to be right back at it getting those depositions scheduled, as in right fucking soon.
At the risk of sounding like the cynic that I am, I can iamgine any one of the kiddies being complicit in a conveniently timed accident, even involving Mommie Dearest, to delay and delay and delay their personal day pr reckoning. And from Dumpf, you know a fund raiser is far more important than a funeral or even a moment of silence for someone who has outworn her usefulness to him.
In addition to it being the decent thing, the delay may also give them a chance to catch this clan doing more criming.
