The United States is run by a Commander in Chief, wholly in charge of the most powerful military force ever assembled, backed by nuclear weapons that the man always jonesed to use, a man so thoroughly psychologically and psychiatrically unfit – indeed, demented, and a man who managed to take the insanity to the next level this weekend, which has now led to a roar over assembling the cabinet for 25th Amendment considerations. In a mature and reflective country made up of discerning adults wanting to do the right and balanced thing, the man would be removed immediately in place of just “almost anyone else, someone normal.”

Understood. You have heard it all before. He cannot get lower, there are no new lows. But on this you’re wrong. As insane as Donald Trump has always been, he has never been blasting social media with threat after threat of war crimes, during a war he alone started, against a nation that did not attack us – and now having a deadline for “war crime level” bombing, while also dropping “F-bombd” and praising Allah on social media. Yes, really. Per a report from Newsweek:

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***in’ Strait, you crazy b******s, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP,”

Settle and breathe that in. Read it again. Indeed, if you are over forty years of age or so, take a moment and remember past presidents, good and bad, and remember that element of “weight” and gravity that used to be associated with literally anything that touched on the American White House – nothing stood out as more “important,” or “considered.” Now read that social media post again. He really did descend to a new level, and it’s noticeable.

Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut, the increasingly-necessary Democrat who may well be the one best positioned as the real majority leader, wrote the obvious and needed reply:

“If I were in Trump’s Cabinet, I would spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment,” he wrote. “He’s already killed thousands. He’s going to kill thousands more.”

True. The only problem is that it’s not “just” Trump killing those thousands in a maniacal rage, shredding decades of “somewhat-earned” respect and goodwill. No, as “our” president, “we” are also killing those thousands. We, the American people, are sending those messages out to the world – threats of civilian destruction, war crimes, in the name of Allah, we are making those calls, right up until we decide to affirmatively “do something.”

Of course, without a majority in Congress, it is hard to even initiate anything – never mind effectuate something. And yet that doesn’t mean that an effort isn’t required. Even if it amounts to little more than a scream into the void, that effort represents the counter-American voice, the discerning one, the lawful one, the humble one, the one that would much rather work out solutions adult to adult, through discussions, than rage posts and bombs – real bombs, taking real lives.

We join the voice of John Harwood, a solid, always thoughtful, long-time analyst:

The new calls follow Trump’s post on Truth Social: John Harwood, a former White House correspondent for CNN, wrote that “the 25th Amendment was written for precisely this situation.”

Let’s look again to Trump’s post.

“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***in’ Strait, you crazy b******s, or you’ll be living in Hell.

And now consider:

Psychologist says:"Trump has the most severe personality disorder a person can have.Trump is both evil and demented."

Bad Choices Make Good Stories (@badchoices.us) 2026-04-05T00:56:16.157Z

Could it possibly be more obvious? We are led by a raging maniac in need of medical attention, not endowed with the responsibility to speak and act for us. “Open the ‘Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards… ” That’s the official White House American President, Commander in Chief’s position. And he has weapons that are nearly unthinkable in their efficiency – killing and destruction.

Last, it is worth noting just how cowardly and terrified that voice sounds. American bombs, guided by satellites, fed real-time targeting information by A.I., have already killed an entire generation and level of Iranian leadership, all ordered and operated from within the total safety of that same White House, one of the most secure military bunkers on Earth. Consider this, Trump is a raving lunatic because of market reactions to the Strait being closed, threatening Trump’s popularity and power due to economic concerns. Now imagine how he’d act if Iran could realistically put Trump’s life and limbs at risk. Trump referenced this tough stuff as being “war” when an American fighter was shot out of the sky. No, real war involves the possibility that you might lose your life or your stuff. It is all in the open, bombs away, no guarantees, loser loses. That’s “war.”

This? This is simply an attack, a sucker punch, the “brained in the parking lot” organized crime hit by a made man, someone “safe,” little more. Which is also why these calls are met with grave concern from the people that actually prosecute war crimes and international crimes against humanity. That’s what this is – not “war.”

But imagine if Trump’s life was or even “is” threatened, and then ask yourself if there are any limits to what he would do to protect himself – then remember the nuclear codes. If Iran were to utilize a terrorist network to launch an asymmetric attack on us, perhaps even threatening Washington and Trump – and that is war, you, me, Trump, possible victims of a bomb in a terminal or a drone over the White House – would we be able to trust that “our president” wouldn’t respond in history-altering rage with nuclear weapons? Imbalancing the globe for generations because one weak man felt vulnerable or threatened?

Ideally, it is just a thought exercise. But it is not entirely impossible, either. Which is why Sen. Murphy is right to be calling out the need to discuss this man’s incapacity. At some point, whether it is weeks from now or decades from now, this nation will have to reckon with how it handled the situation with this man. There is no better time than “now” to use your voice – for whatever it’s worth – and at least record your American objection.

Let’s all keep talking about the 25th Amendment and this clearly unwell man. There is no rule that says we cannot make a difference, or light the spark that does bring about the end in months, not decades. Think on what you might do. Contact your Senator here. State your case, note Trump’s threats and incapacity, cite this column if you wish – it’s not nothing.

Get on the record. There is no rule that says we cannot make a difference. He has descended to new lows. The alternative is to do nothing – and that’s simply unacceptable anymore. Rise.

  1. I certainly hope the lawmakers take this as seriously as some of us do. His references to Allah, to me sound like he fancies himself a liberator of people from their oppressive regime. What he doesn’t seem to know is that the report I’ve seen the Iranian people are no longer protesting, but demonstrating support for their government. He has managed to unify them against us and Israel.

  2. My nightmare fluently articulated (below). Thanks, Jason. I’d add that, as a narcissistic nihilist, he’d want to re-enact the Slim Pickens role as Major T.J. “King” Kong in Dr Strengelove and go out in a blaze of glory.
