Who knew that Trump ever gave a thought to homelessness? To be sure, one need not fear that Trump suddenly has a heart about any of this. When he speaks of plans to “move” the homeless, he just means move them somewhere else, besides Washington, not give people homes or even help. As we all know, on Saturday, Trump promised a press conference on Monday setting out his plans to federalize Washington, DC law enforcement, perhaps using the National Guard as he did in Los Angeles – his clearest moves yet to full post-Constitutional authoritarianism. Trump gave us a hint today of what is to come on his Truth Social network, promising something very dark – he will no longer be “nice,” tweeting:
We’re having a News Conference tomorrow in the White House. I’m going to make our Capital safer and more beautiful than it ever was before. The Homeless have to move out, IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital. The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong. It’s all going to happen very fast, just like the Border. We went from millions pouring in, to ZERO in the last few months. This will be easier — Be prepared! There will be no “MR. NICE GUY.” We want our Capital BACK. Thank you for your attention to this matter!
It is one of his most sinister statements yet. “No more Mr. Nice Guy” and wanting the Capital back, along with a promise that it will happen fast – that is some very dark stuff. And, as always, the stated goal is subservient to a larger, under-the-surface agenda, the outright militarization of the capital.
Breaking the reality down further, it is worthwhile to ask how it is that Trump plans on differentiating between decent everyday people who happen to be homeless versus “the criminals.” Given that there are already criminal statutes that authorize an arrest for someone committing a crime, it stands to reason that Trump will simply cut corners again and arrest anyone he deems looks enough like a criminal.
We know what to expect. It is a safe bet that people in masks will be rounding up people of color – some of whom will be homeless, some will be labeled criminals, and likely all taken away to another “camp.” Indeed, given the number of detention centers going up around the country, it is terrifying to consider that it’s entirely possible that Trump does have a fascist solution to these problems – internment camps. Notice that he promises to take the homeless “FAR” away, not settle them. Out of sight, out of mind, just like immigrants.
Yes, all of this is likely cover for simply militarizing Washington – a precursor to any real grab for fascism and declaring elections as rigged or “over” in some respect. Whether Trump actually has the political capital to grab full fascist post-election control is debatable. He likely wouldn’t survive a current declaration that we will skip the 2026 elections, but that doesn’t mean that such a declaration isn’t in the works for sometime down the road. Do not expect Trump to simply “allow” the Democrats to gain a foothold in Congress, opening the doors to investigations of the administration. In the exact same way that a violent assault on a 19-year-old Trump supporter – Big Balls – gave cover to usher in loyalist law enforcement, expect some kind of “emergency” that prevents seating a Democratic Congress.
Like the frog in the pot, all these dials are turned slowly, sometimes even daily, ratcheting things up over time so as to avoid one clear defining move. Additionally, Trump might now welcome controversy over the power grab as something to at least get Epstein off every screen in the nation. Trump might trade heat for militarizing Washington over taking heat for any remaining evidence in the Epstein files.
For now, it is apparent that Trump intends to start rounding up the most vulnerable among us, taking them “far away” from him. Such a move has never solved the homelessness problem, but Trump isn’t looking to solve homelessness. No, this move, like so many others above the surface, surely conceals a much darker plan, his darkest yet – “the” plan. This is part of installing him as emperor.
Remember, ultimately, everything Trump does is based on some sort of calculation to help himself personally as the only principle that matters.

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. We work hard to get you analysis that you will not find in the mainstream media, but all media have been hit hard since the big companies have gobbled up and monopolized commentary. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

First LA then DC, then your city. This is another step towards a military takeover.
Pity Trump isn’t homeless.

Also remember Rick Wilson’s book Everything tRump Touches Dies. We can keep hoping that the Orange Muffin Top flames out mentally AND physically before all his “evil plans” come to fruition!
They aren’t his plans but those of his puppetmasters. Ergo, they will continue unless ’26 cansqueak or better Congress to the Democratic party.
