As Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett of Texas said “This is too good not to share!” That’s something of an understatement. The attempt by the House of Representative (the GOP part) to impeach DHS Secretary Mayorkas produced its share of memorable moments. Most of them lamentable if not downright ludicrous.
However, there was at least one moment that as I read about it in an article by 2Paragraphs evoked memories of a scene from the movie version of M.A.S.H. When Majors Frank Burns and Margaret Houlihan where after writing their “complaint” letter to a General they succumb to their lust and go at it. Since Radar had put a microphone in Houlihan’s tent so the three fun guys could eavesdrop Trapper said “This is too good not to share with the camp” and they broadcast the “sounds of passion” over the camps loudspeakers.
The article I referred to sets things up well. The venerable Congressman Jamie Raskin took his turn to denounce what the GOP was up to in an impassioned speech. Raskin called out the GOP bluntly declaring “The madcap wild goose chase to impeach Joe Biden has produced no wild geese.” Oh but he was just getting warmed up. See for yourself:

Although Raskin didn’t go full bore in emphasizing it, his “in-dict-able” was a clear send-up of the idiotic MTG who I must point out was a, if not THE driving force behind Speaker Johnson pushing this to a vote yesterday. Now, I’m an old-fart who always lags behind whatever is the current “hip/cool” lingo but Oh SNAP! Much as I often editorialize (admittedly sometimes to excess) I’ll let someone else who is smarter and better in countless ways than I am characterize this. From the linked article:

Crockett added: “The R’s really aren’t sending their best to DC or is this their best? Reading & counting keeps tripping them up from doing their jobs.”

My pleasure. Like Ms. Crockett suggested it should be shared. She didn’t add “far and wide” but I’m pretty sure Greene had hoped her gaffe would be forgotten. And given other news it would have been except SHE was so insistent on hauling up Mayorkas for impeachment. She brought a whole new round of mockery on herself. Maybe she saw a cartoon of someone stepping on a rake and said to herself I wonder how much that actually hurts in real life and chose to find out. Being an old white guy I wasn’t about to “go there” with dick jokes/references but since Crockett led the way I’ll happily follow in her lead. Hope the ladies out there don’t slap me around too much for doing so!
Thank God, or someone above my pay grade, Jamie is in the congress and somehow endured the unimaginable loss of his son! A true warrior for Democracy and TRUTH! I would have loved to see the look on the traitor when he called her out!
