There are signs everywhere that the MAGA mind-meld that has literally taken over all higher functions in a frightening segment of the country faces impending complete collapse, and once it starts, it will probably do so with a speed that is hard to believe. Cults are impenetrable right up until they are not, and once the bubble bursts, it would be easier to reblow the balloon. Former Capitol Hill police officer Mike Fanone, the man beaten senseless and left for dead by MAGA faithful, predicts that the MAGA movement won’t last another full year and that a Democratic Congress will set about investigating Trump with an unmatched intensity. Fanone predicts that it will end with a man on the run, that Trump will eventually seek solace, perhaps even his very freedom, in “the Kingdom,” Saudi Arabia.

According to a report in Mediaite, Fanone says:

People are they’re most dangerous when they’re cornered and they have nothing left to lose. And I I kind of see Donald Trump as you know, this is a a person who’s you know, up there in years who is cornered.

And you know, his– the likelihood if there are free and fair elections in 2026 of Donald Trump not being impeached, or at least, you know, investigated and having his ad administration investigated into oblivion are slim to none.

And so I I think he’s starting to feel the pressure. And I think you’re starting to see him lash out in ways that you know are are incredibly dangerous.

Yes, one can hear it already in Trump’s defensiveness, in his aggression. Yes, Trump remains forever confident, perhaps because only he knows how far he is willing to go to save himself alone (And one gets the sense that Trump would rather burn the nation to the ground than face his own consequences). But it’s also obvious that Trump is compensating. He was palpably desperate with respect to the Epstein files that are likely currently undergoing a “re-scrub” – he’s even admitted they’re going after Democrats, but there’s also desperation in the unknown. He could end up labeled a pedophile.

And then there is the real killer, the economy.

Nothing will burst the MAGA mold faster than an economy that is failing, prices increasing, jobs yielding to AI, all of it, all of it likely on the burner. We are already starting to feel it. The American people do not forgive presidents who oversee recessions and high prices. They figuratively burn them at the stake. Trump’s approval ratings are already hovering near historic lows, 36% approval in the latest Gallup poll, so it’s already starting to crumble. Once it goes, Fanone predicts Trump “goes.”

… So he doesn’t give a shit who he destroys as long as he stays out of jail, he gets his retribution, and he makes, you know, billions of dollars off of crypto.

And you know, I I foresee a you know, he’ll be hopping on that Qatari jet to Saudi Arabia and living out the remainder of his days…

He will definitely try to pardon himself. I might be the only lawyer in America who thinks it, but I think a self-pardon is patently unconstitutional because the very underlying definition of “pardon” includes something extended to someone else (“Beg your pardon”), we use the term “he pardoned his own behavior” as a small put down, someone not taking responsibility. By its very nature, that pardon will stay fragile, so fragile that it is possible that Trump takes all questions off the board as to his last few years of life, that he’ll remain free, opulent, self-aggrandizing, and ever the victim. Living in Saudi Arabia – there is more golf than in Moscow.

I don’t know if it will ever get to the point that Trump absconds from the jurisdiction that is the United States. No doubt, he will do it if he feels he needs to in order to protect himself. It is just still unlikely in my mind. But Fanone is right in how he characterizes this term.

Trump didn’t want this term so badly in order to destroy immigrants and the ACA – that’s just a bonus. No, he is president in order to get revenge on his “enemies.” And he’s in office to monetize the ever-living f*** out of it. Two real priorities, both going hand in hand, no sense of history, no care as to legacy, only his place on the Fortune 400 and the pain he delivered to those who dared to oppose him.

Trump’s tenure will end in the exact same way that his social media company has gone, the same way that Trump University went, all of it. Donald Trump concentrates on “brands” and appearances. He has never ever followed through with substance. If Donald Trump gets out of the presidency $10 billion richer – and he likely will – along with some people hurt, but at the expense of going down as the most corrupt, destructive, and self-obsessed president in history, then he’ll likely “take that” as fair trade for getting as rich as possible to live out his days in opulence.

If it takes a private 747 and a 10-hour flight as he leaves Washington, so be it. Trump will likely think he “won.” Those of us who care about the nation’s future and history’s judgment will know better. But, as Fanone says, it is coming. With or without a flight.

  1. The clarity in Mike Fanone’s predictive foresight is troubling, without being alarmist. But, the type of boil that’s existing here and now, is finally lanced, its putrid existence must collapse, so as to be successfully sloughed off what it had been parasitically existing on. It’s probably gotta happen to help with a thorougher and lasting healing, for the benefit of one and all.

  2. There’s a great line in Hemingway’s “The Sun Also Rises.”

    “How did you go bankrupt?
    Two ways. Gradually, then suddenly.”

We may have reached the suddenly bit.

  3. Perhaps the key word in Officer Fanone’s opinion piece is “IF” … as in, IF there are free and fair elections in 2026. That’s Trump’s hole-card: send out his quasi-military goons and make damn sure that the elections will go the way of the corrupt GOP. It’s a page right out of every dictator’s playbook and Trump can read just enough to follow it.

  4. Good predictive info. by Officer Fanone & thanks for the revealing article. However, one disagreement with Fanone: if D☭Иald TЯUM₽ runs anywhere to escape the U.S. it won’t be to Saudi Arabia. He knows MbS despises him behind his back & for now he’s only a useful idiot to the Saudis because he has access to the keys to the U.S. treasury. Just like with Putin, he becomes an instant liability & would be murdered by the Saudis as soon as he arrives there. The most likely place he would escape to is Argentina. Second most likely is his gated Le Chateau Des Palmiers mansion in St. Martin. But realistically by the time the end of 2026 rolls around with the midterm elections, his cognitive & vascular health will be so poor, with his mini-strokes progressing to a major stroke he won’t be able to be mentally or physically pull it off + his health may be so poor that he may not be able to be moved & continue to receive the same life sustaining medical care overseas.
