I am sorry to bug people. If there was a different way to do this, I would do it. We need to offset losses which have been occasioned by Twitter traffic falling off considerably, due to mismanagement over there. This has been going on since Q4 of last year and it’s only gotten worse. There’s also an industry wide ad recession going on and other factors, which I’m happy to share with you in the comments thread below.
We need to shore up our reserves before they run out altogether and we’re bouncing off the ropes, trying to make ends meet.
We don’t need an enormous amount of help, just some.
If you can put a $20 bill in PayPal, at [email protected], and if another 283 people can do this, we can stop worrying about money and put all our attention on quality content.

UPDATE X 2 8:00 p.m. PT: We’ve gotten to 20% of our goal and that’s a good beginning. I am bound and determined that we have a Disaster Fund now that Musk is doing what he’s doing and affecting so much of our bottom line.
We will soon have an SEO expert analyze the site and figure out how to get more traffic coming our way.

Of course. As have we all. The closest match so far is Zuckerberg’s Threads but these things are not easy. Twitter was a well built house. Everybody came to Twitter. Even if Threads takes off, it’s not going to be a one-off, same old same old kind of a situation. We’re all going to continue to take a loss of traffic.
I guess Musk doesn’t care how many peoples’ businesses he’s wrecking.
And of course we don’t know if he will sell (which I’m PRAYING he will) or if he’ll just run it into the ground. We had a situation last week where our pieces weren’t even appearing on Twitter because Musk hadn’t paid something called an API.
Again, it’s not just us but this is the only site I’m intending to save.

Linda, I have to use a pen name. And I love my pen name and my avatar. But there are practical reasons for it, like lunatics who threaten to kill us over here. Mike Lindell went nuts a while back and put my email on a chyron at Frankspeech or Lindell TV, whatever bullshit he’s got going, and his employees sent me harassing emails.
But better a harassing email than some lunatic with an AR-15 on the doorstep.

The best of all possible worlds would be for Musk to sell Twitter and for the new owner to revamp it and restore faith in it. Or, maybe I’m dreaming and it’s too late for that.
I’d like to contribute but, being on a state pension over here in Norn Iron, I can’t manage regular payments.
Additionally, for me to send dollars would entail excessive bank charges at this end (and probably at the US end as well) which would take a fair sized chunk out of any donation.
A method where small irregular donations (for instance via Paypal) might help others like me could work

It’s a shame this has to happen but between the ad recession and Musk, we’ve just been hemorrhaging money. Usually during Q3 I don’t think about things like this, but these are not usual times. We have to prepare ourselves for Twitter going out of business, which it just might.

I became a supporter some months ago, I hope he money is getting applied correctly. Can; send $$ in the mail. I live outside the country and never use PayPal or pher electronic services because I have already had some bad experiences with them. But will heep up my continuing support.
