As I’ve said before and will undoubtedly say many more times again, America dodged the bullet by electing Joe Biden. If Donald Trump had remained in office, make no mistake, it would have been fascism American style, full on Fourth Reich. You know and I know and Bill Barr knows that parody accounts are protected speech. Nevertheless, that didn’t stop the storm troopers at Barr’s DOJ from asking Twitter to give up the identity of a Devin Nunes parody account.

Ain’t it grand? Secret grand jury subpoenas and gag orders, right here in River City. This is who Bill Barr is and what his DOJ was. I still marvel that he’s walking around a free man, but I guess that just goes to show you how woefully naive I am.
It has been noted any number of times that Barr’s DOJ would have done well to start investigating the QAnon insanity, and now we know why they didn’t. They were too busy ferreting out the real danger to civilization, parody accounts on Twitter. Nice to know that Barr’s Justice Department had standards and priorities.
I shudder to think what else is going to be unearthed. And I absolutely tremble thinking about what happens the next time a Republican administration gets in. We saw what Barr did when he was in the Bush administration and we saw what he did with Trump. Even if it’s not him, personally, we’re getting a pretty dark picture of what goes on when the Rethugs are in power.
It’s not about Democrats v. Republicans anymore. It’s about Americans v. Fascists.
It’s been about Americans v. Fascists since before Trump got in. The hopeful difference, now, is that the Fascists are divided amongst themselves, and the true Americans are more united than ever.
Barr was serving as the personal lawyer for the former guy, and trying to make the rest of DOJ do the same.
