I don’t know if Florida is Hell, but as hot and run by devils as it is, it will do until the real thing comes along. Three people were transported to hospitals from Aventura Mall after shooting occurred this afternoon. Scenes of chaos were posted to Twitter.
I was in the mall (my office is 5 mins away) when this shooting occurred a few stores over. Heard the shot, training kicked in – herded everyone, dove for cover behind cabinets. On the floor behind cover when I made this video. Pure chaos. Just left.#aventura #aventuramall pic.twitter.com/4VoWgsm5ib

Aventura Mall is a chaotic scene right now after a shooting inside the mall that sent shoppers running from all directions. pic.twitter.com/Qicf2R8jYo

This is an upscale mall. The point of that remark is to say that these insane outbursts of rage are happening everywhere. No one is safe. We need to get guns off the streets and open carry is completely bonkers. This toxic, paranoid, defensive interpretation of the Second Amendment is not working.
I don’t know what it will take for this to change. We’ve clearly reached a tipping point. More than one mass shooting a day has occurred in 2021 and last year there were 610. And statistically more mass shootings happen at the end of the year, so this could get even more insane, as impossible as that is to believe.
This is going to take more than thots and preyers. We have to secure our streets and the good guy with the gun is a cultural myth, nothing more.
The real ‘disease’ that afflicts the USA isn’t a virus – it;s the NRA
“Disease” implies it just kind of happens. The NRA is a terrorist organization-it was planned and created rather than just happening.
Mass shootings in the last 24 hours: USA : one so far
: Rest of the world including war zones :zero
It IS just bizarre, there is NO reason to make everything into a shooting gallery …
Stupid people make stupid rules and then stupid people get their guns, with the power of those weapons in hand or slung over their shoulders, a dim bulb goes on in their dim, unaware mind that stupid is OK, Trump was going against the Capitol building right?
You are right, the good guy with the gun is never good … these times with the Cruz idiots out there, cooking bacon on a hot rifle barrel …. phitttt !!!
There must be a huge sexual turn-on to blow things up with these weapons, gone are the days of plinking with a 22, or hunting with Dad and Uncle, using bows and arrows or shotguns …
There absolutely is no reason to have millions of assault-style weapons in the hands of John and Jane Public Does …
Maybe I’m weird or there’s something wrong with me. I grew up shooting and hunting. I’ve fired everything from a .22 rifle and my first .410 shotgun as a kid to the M-16 and anti-tank missiles when I was on active duty in the Marines. And rifles and handguns for decades after active duty. I never got even a twinge of sexual gratification out of any shot or missile fired. And for any conservatives reading this (some do look at this site) for all those countless guns (and missiles) fired my dick didn’t get even a little bit bigger! Hey conservatives out there – has yours? Or if a gal did your boobs grow? Hell no! Of course not!
Generally speaking when it comes to sexual fetishes I’m the type who figures what the hell, if people are turned on by what most of us consider unusual stuff then as long as no one gets hurt to each their own. But we clearly have an increasing population of ammosexual gun fetishists out there. Worse, they have Rambo fantasies and for all their bleating about rights they REFUSE the concept that with rights come responsibilities.
I haven’t owned any type of gun for quite a few years now. Since physically I can no longer hunt, and instead of living in the country live in a nice, quite suburb in a controlled access building I have no need for one for home protection either. I’d hate to lose my right to buy certain guns if my circumstances changed, but I’ve never minded filling out paperwork for background checks or even a waiting period. And since my time in the Marines ended I’ve never felt any need for having an M-16 or a civilian semi-auto version of my own. Nor do I think any other civilian should have them. I don’t put up with any bullshit from those who claim they make a good hunting weapon. The rounds travel both at much higher speed than regular hunting rounds but also start to tumble when they hit and fuck up a LOT of meat (I don’t believe in hunting or fishing unless you eat what you kill) for those who don’t know. And while most shots at deer are well within the effective range of a military assault weapon for larger big game like elk the ranges are simply too long for their use.
I could write reams on the subject of rights and guns and the subject of a “well regulated” militia.
But the bottom line is that some people (far too many) don’t view their guns as a tool for protecting themselves if someone breaks into their home, or for hunting but to make them feel like “Bllly-bad-asses.” That’s about as stupid (or stoopid!) reason to own a gun or “bear arms” as there is. Worse, it’s dangerous as hell as these same people are severely lacking in their sense of responsibility for safe handling and use of firearms.
