This is what came up on the screens at the Department of Housing and Urban development, yet another governmental department that wasn’t exactly thrilled with the idea of Elon Musk emailing everybody like they were his employees and he their boss.

Television screens at the Department of Housing and Urban Development showed what appeared to be an AI-generated video of President Donald Trump kissing Elon Musk’s feet on Monday.
The nightmarish clips were played on monitors inside the HUD headquarters in Washington, D.C., reports say. Footage of the incident was widely shared on social media, which showed the screens displaying the video emblazoned with the caption: “LONG LIVE THE REAL KING.”
The caption seemingly referenced Trump describing himself as a “king” in a Truth Social post last week.
“Another waste of taxpayer dollars and resources,” Kasey Lovett, a HUD spokesperson, told The Daily Beast in response to a request for comment about the apparent hack. “Appropriate action will be taken for all involved.”
It’s not clear who might be responsible for the incident. According to Rachel Siegel, a Washington Post reporter who covers housing, the video played on TVs “across the building.” The AI footage appears to be an edited version of another clip posted online at least as early as last week.

According to an Associated Press report based on leaked documents, a Trump administration proposal to cut 50 percent of staff at HUD is “targeting employees who support disaster recovery, rental subsidies, discrimination investigations and first-time homebuyers.” The news agency reported that more than a dozen of the department’s programs could be hit by the loss of some 4,000 roles.
Lovett told the AP that the documents “should not be taken as final” as staffing is assessed across the agency.
HUD is a sprawling organization. If you want to investigate waste, why don’t they see if anybody is ordering a $30,000 conference table like Ben Carson did back in the day? Do they have Uncle Ben back on the payroll? Because that’s the first place I would look for waste and extravagance.
And oh, while we’re at it, it costs about $13,000 an hour whenever Melania jets into and out of Washington, D.C. from Trump Tower. Shouldn’t she be solidly ensconced in the East Wing or the Residence doing her anti-bullying work? Or whatever?

Well, I already came to the realization I’ll be losing my HUD subsidy that allows me to stay in my apartment sometime this year. I assumed it would be summer when the annual re-certification process happens and there wouldn’t be enough staffing at the agency to process all that stuff. (It will affect millions of people) So I have mixed feelings about this because it’s funny as hell but did they have to do it at HUD? I fear they will stop processing payments to renters like my apartment complex starting next month. And once again I’ll be homeless and with cuts to Veteran’s services no social worker to help me find something new.

The hack used the current resources of the TVs and the video system,* sure. But show me how even $1 of taxpayer money was used to achieve this middle finger to the administration! In the late days of World War II, the CIA put out a (pamphlet (I think it’s about 20 pages) called “Simple Sabotage” or at least that’s enough of the title to find it) for people living in occupied territory but who were on our side. Project Gutenberg has it and, like everything there, it’s free. Since AI didn’t exist then, I won’t theorize that this creator has read it. But it’s not impossible. And many other good ideas are available.
