This makes complete sense. People Magazine is reporting that Melania Trump lives her own life at Mar-a-Lago, in separate quarters from Donald, and has her own close knit circle of friends and families. She makes the pilgrimage into the dining room because that’s part of their deal. Or, Trump’s people call Melania’s people and she shows up to the requisite photo op, but then goes back to her own world and what a bubble it is.

“Melania is leading her own life, and still feels happy being at Mar-a-Lago, surrounded by people who love her and who never talk about reality, or bad things about her husband,” a social source tells PEOPLE.

But that doesn’t mean she’s supportive of her husband’s role in the alleged hush money payment, which stems from a rumored extramarital affair with Daniels. The former porn star has claimed the affair took place less than four months after Melania gave birth to the couple’s son, Barron, in 2006.

“She remains angry and doesn’t want to hear [the alleged hush money payment] mentioned,” the source tells PEOPLE. “She is aware of who her husband is and keeps her life upbeat with her own family and a few close friends.” […]

The source adds that Melania has been upset by the Daniels accusations since at least 2018, when the Wall Street Journal reported that Trump had arranged a $130,000 payment to the ex-porn star a month before the 2016 election so she’d keep quiet about their alleged affair.

While the source tells PEOPLE that Melania and Donald live in separate quarters of their Mar-a-Lago estate, the two are still often spotted eating dinner together or attending events at the private club.

“She does very well with all of her socializing duties,” the source continues. “They still see friends for dinner at the club, but live separately and do what they want on their own. They don’t spend that much time together.”

The source adds that Melania continues to keep busy with her family — including her mom and dad, who also live at Mar-a-Lago, and Barron, who turned 17 on Monday, amid the chaos of a potential indictment.

“Barron is a sweet boy who has a loving family around him,” the source says. “He is older now and handsome. His mom is protective of him but he is free around Mar-a-Lago. They are low-key with their socializing.”

The source adds that the family likely enjoyed a celebratory birthday dinner for Barron, despite the occasion arriving as Donald braced for the grand jury’s indictment decision: “They would not skip his birthday over legal issues.”

I’m sure they would not. And why should they? Trump is always going to be Trump, he’s always going to be at the center of a circus. Why shouldn’t his youngest son have some chance at a normal life?

And Melania’s fine with whatever happens to Donald.

“Melania loves the beautiful weather and resort town atmosphere of Palm Beach,” the source says. “She is happy when she is in Palm Beach. She has her son and other close family members. They are tribe-like and usually stick together. Despite what happens to Donald, she will be fine. She is well taken care of.”

I don’t blame Melania for anything but her cruelty and insensitively. I know she wasn’t banking on ever being a political wife, let alone a First Lady, but she not only stank at the job, she lashed out unnecessarily and made a public spectacle of herself. The pea coat I Really Don’t Care Do U? debacle tore it for me.

But for the most part, if she would be honest about her true role in Trump’s life, which is being a PR ornament, I would be fine with her. And of course that’s not going to happen.

If Melania had lived in L.A., she would have probably become what’s called an “actress, model, whatever,” which is what a lot of pretty faces were as they tried to navigate to some good assignment. Vanna White was one of those and she did very well for herself. I’m not disparaging that job category.

What I’m disparaging is this illusion of the devoted Trump wife who wants to help her hubby return to the White House. Unless I miss my guess, nobody hopes and prays more than Melania that Donald doesn’t get the nomination. She was wildly out of her league in the role of First Lady and a second bash at it isn’t going to get any better.

We’ll see how this all goes. It’s only March, 2023.

  1. Sorry this will sound crass but it’s absolutely true; she’s a piece of ass bought and paid for. Dumpster isn’t the first or last vile man to go this route, but the woman is the one who has to agree to it. The fact she wore that jacket after baby huey was busy destroying poor and homeless children at the border, tells me she is just as empty and vile as her husband no matter where the fuck that prostitute stays. Fuck her, figuratively of course.

    • You will get zero argument from me. When the pea coat episode happened, Charles M. Blow of the New York Times wrote a stellar column, calling the Trumps “The King and Queen of Cruelty.” They’re both total trash in my eyes and I don’t care how much money they have. Money can’t buy character and it can’t buy class.

Prior to that instant (and this was before the “fucking Chreesmuss decorations”) there were people who speculated that Melania was an abused spouse and all that crap. No. She’s like him, she’s stupid and materialistic and gawdy. They’re a perfect match.

  2. Her a handler? Nope. She proved she couldn’t be close to a handler after her fux PAW coat ordeal. That was about as cheap of a trick than I ever saw, it was shall we say “white trash” stuff. She showed herself with that one. Why should she care, though. She got her citizen ship, all the money & clothes we wants and a care free life, in the end. She’s no doubt wanting him to go to jail so she won’t have to perform her end of the deal, appearing with him at appointed times. Trump can go play with the likes of “Lake” and stay on his side and she can stay on her side. What a deal.

    • Let’s put it this way: I don’t think Melania would shed a tear if Donald had to go to jail. I don’t think she’ll shed a tear when he finally drops dead. Just my opinion.

  3. Sorry, when reading that, I must be tired. Faux, not fux, and THAT I ever saw, not than…..& no telling what else. What can I say?

  4. Don’t forget Jeffrey Epstein introduced Melania to Trump. These are all some vile people supported by millions of other vile people.

    • is that a fact? I thought Trump met Melania at some party and she wouldn’t give him her phone number but she took his number and called him. Can you find a link to that story? That puts a whole different spin on things if Epstein was the conduit or matchmaker.
