I’m glad I left the TV on for a little longer today. Ken Dilanian of MSNBC just broke details of how the search warrant was obtained, and it’s even dumber than I thought.
According to Dilanian, the information the FBI brought before a federal magistrate judge to obtain the search warrant originated with the CIA. And the claim of illegality is CIA proof that Bolton had spent the last four years leaking classified information to reporters.
Sweet Jesus. For starters, let’s just begin at the beginning, with the CIA. As you all know, the CIA charter prohibits them from operating in the United States. And as far as I can see, in the post Cold war world, the CIA couldn’t find its own ass with two hands, a flashlight, and a boxing glove. I’m convinced that the actual meaning of that acronym are Central Incontinence Agency, cuz they’re so full of sh*t.
But let’s leave the Stumbling Spies for a moment and deal with a few hard dates and facts. In their deposition to the FBI for the warrant, they claim that for the last four years Bolton has been leaking classified information to members of the media. OK, fine. Let’s just look at that time frame for a minute.
The genesis of this claim isn’t hard to find if you have a normal memory. Stretch the time frame just a wee, by about a year. Bolton, who had been a private citizen for more than 18 months came out with a tell-all book on Traitor Tot. Hair Twitler was absolutely livid. He went to court to try to stop publication, claiming there was classified material in the book. When that failed, he went back to court in an unprecedented attempt to force the publisher to recall all of the books from the shelves. Both tactics failed miserably. The critical thing to remember is that Bolton had already been out of the administration for 18 months when he penned his tome. Where did the secrets come from?
But here’s the McGuffin. That episode is not a part of the affidavit used to obtain the search warrant. The CIA claims that Bolton spent the last four years leaking classified information to the media. OK. Let’s whip out our day planners. Who was President of the United States for the last four years? Joseph Robinette Biden, Jr. Why would Traitor Tot care what Bolton was doing when Biden was President. He should be out there waving the documents around, screaming about what a lax and leaky CIA Biden ran. It makes no sense.
Ah, but this does. For the last four years, Bolton has spent every available moment of his day going on FUX News and other media, including mainstream media outlets to hammer Traitor over the head with a jackhammer. I remember one FUX news host asking Bolton what he thought Trump’s agenda was? Bolton snidely retorted that he didn’t think that Trump was intelligent enough to have an agenda.
There’s the origin of the Bolton investigation and raid this morning. It’s all right there, especially in the numbers. Screw the book, he fought that battle and lost it, and gave Bolton free publicity in the process. But those four years spent biting the hand that once fed him, especially on FUX News is unforgivable.
Let the CIA claim to have classified information about Bolton giving secret goodies to the media for four years, and then send the Keystone kops out to see if they can get lucky. Which they almost certainly won’t.
Because no matter what else John Bolton is, he’s a career political administration insider. Well trained enough to know that you don’t leave secrets laying around in your bathroom. If you have them, you use them, for your book or whatever else, then immediately dispose of them. I’d be amazed if Bolton has a White House notepad sitting around after seven years.
So, I think we can write this one off as nothing more than an exercise is pure intimidation to make Bolton’s life miserable. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for the statute of limitations to run out without charges being filed to be sure. Then again, they may well go ahead and just file charges to stretch out Bolton’s agony and expense. Who knows with wankers like these?
I thank you for the privilege of your time.

But in the meantime Bolton has been landed with significant legal costs in his own defense.
Which is the point.
exactly, it’s the revenge tour. I hope Bolton is OK
And the whole thing doesn’t cost Cheeto a dime; we have to pay for it!
Bolton may well have discussed classified info with trusted journalists but the big question is how would the Cia know given, as you pointed out, that they aren’t supposed to operate in the US. it’s also not good that they were able to find Cia personnel who would rat out someone like Bolton (basically one of their own) especially given the current climate in which the intelligence services are being decimated by this administration.
I suppose we could all play at being naive and pretend the CIA doesn’t operate on US soil. But then, they kind of gave that one away already.
CIA, FBI = Keystone Kops…how true.
Remember when a competent Justice Dept. asked, pretty please, for Traitor Tot’s boxes of secrets to be returned?
Did these goons even ask John if he had anything in his house?
Nah…thought not…
