The west has always been wild but now it’s getting just plain weird. None other than Alex Jones, he who dropped out of community college to form InfoWars back when the Branch Davidian complex went up in flames in Waco, in 1993, has just pushed the envelope of normalcy out a few inches more.
He claims that Donald Trump is soon to be the victim of a Deep State plot to destroy him, because Trump is the leader of a great cause and his followers are true believers — much as David Koresh was back in the day. Koresh planned for an apocalyptic showdown with the government. To hear Jones tell it, so is Trump.
Mary Trump said that her uncle wanted the “same violent chaos” as was at the Waco siege to save him from justice. Here’s Jones’ bloviating blather on the subject.
This impending demise of Donald Trump was mentioned back in 2020 on far-right outlets. It was speculated that he would be reelected and then assassinated. The story didn’t get too far beyond the likes of Bitchute and other CT outlets, but now it seems like Alex Jones is amplifying it.
So what’s the underlying concept here? Why is Jones doing this?
The most obvious reason is that if he can gin up Trump’s followers into believing that their Mango Messiah is soon to be attacked by the forces of evil, but Jones somehow has the inside scoop, then of course they’re listen to Jones and buy his vitamin supplements and snake oil. They’ll send Jones money to protect Trump.
Likewise, Trump himself has been megaphoning this idea. He’s said that he’s happy to be perp walked. Jones paraphrased Trump, “‘well, I’m gonna go ahead and just walk right in front of everybody in Manhattan in handcuffs. If I get killed, so what? I’ll be a martyr.’ So, he is in that fully committed mode.”
Trump is protected by the Secret Service. I don’t think he needs to worry. I have no idea who services his plane or how vulnerable that is. Maybe Rupert Murdoch would want to blow it up. Not saying he would, saying only that Murdoch is so definitive about how the GOP can’t nominate Trump and if Trump died on the campaign trail, like Bobby Kennedy in 1968, then that would prevent him from getting the nomination, right?
I don’t even like to speculate about such things in jest, but here’s the situation: Trump himself is staging the 2024 GOP primary in violent terms. This we have seen so far. So if he continues and if his allies like Jones continue, we may be having a great many bizarro world level conversations on how strange all this is.
One thing is certain: the MAGA fundraising machine runs off of fear and outrage. That must be kept ginned up. What better way to do that than to present the 2024 election in basic existential terms, will Trump be or will he not be?
Once again, our political narrative plunges even further.
Why is this criminal still allowed to be spewing anything in public? His entire outfit should’ve been stripped of ALL assets and sold off to the highest bidder so that Jones could afford to pay the judgments made against him and all the legal fees he owes. I mean, didn’t the man try to claim bankruptcy in order to avoid having to make restitution?

Alex your rotten fruit has already been exposed. Just go shut the fuck up and pay those poor families the money you owe them.

Jones’ prediction shows just how big an ignoramus he is. Why would anyone on the left, democrats, moderate republicans/independents, hell ANYONE want to take the shit gibbon off the stage? The fool is the gift that keeps giving to those opposing the right-wingers. Every damned fool thing trump utters, and he is a cornucopia of damned fool utterances, just pisses off one more potential ‘pube voter and/or is one more easy ad for an opponent of a RW nutjob pol.
Now, I CAN see one of the RW ‘pube oligarchs wanting him taken out-he’s got much more to worry about from that side than ours.
Just a thought: the West actually wasn’t that wild. The OK Corral.shootout happened because, like them.or not,the Earps were the lawmen trying to.keep a lid on. Tombstone like many Western towns required visitors to check their guns at the Marshall’s office. It cut down on gunfights. The Clantons refused to do so.
