A few days ago, Alan Dershowitz, unable to handle the suffering alone appealed to the universe via Twitter to complain that he has become a discrimination victim – by not being invited to parties. Apparently serving as Donald Trump’s legal apologist doesn’t make you popular in a place like Martha’s Vineyard. He said, “I have experienced this firsthand on Martha’s Vineyard. Old friends are shunning me and trying to ban me from their social life.”

Today, he went on This Week and spoke with George Stephanopoulos and had this to say:
Dershowitz: “You cannot question a president’s motives when the president acts. If a president pardons, that’s it. If a president fires, that’s it. You can’t go beyond the act and get into his motive or into his intent.”
Stephanopolous: “But what if he’s pardoning someone to cover up a murder?”
Dershowitz: “It doesn’t matter. The pardon is the pardon. The covering up of the murder may be an independent crime…”
You have to watch the clip below, if not just for the awkward look Stephanopolous’ flashes over to his other guest, Asha Rangappa, right after that last line by Dershowitz.

Awe, poor ol’ Dersh. I imagine his old friends are going to shun him even harder after that interview. Didn’t anyone tell him that it’s saying that kind of stupid shit that makes him unpopular?!
C’mon, I mean, he’s a victim. Some of those old friends should have told him.
