I suppose that while Marco Rubio was perusing his Bible for quotes to tweet out to his followers, he never came across the 9th Commandment prohibiting bearing false witness, because that is exactly what he did this morning when he posted this:

First of all, Marco, there was nothing in the police report about four attackers, and police also explicitly stated that there was no indication of a political motive for the assault…

Local 10 News

“Hialeah police arrested a 22-year-old man accused of attacking a canvasser handing out political flyers on Sunday evening in Hialeah…

…a Hialeah police arrest report obtained by Local 10 News makes no mention of any additional attackers or any stated political motivation…”

That’s two lies by commission, Marco – there were not four attackers but only the one, and the assault, while reprehensible, was not motivated by politics as far as the police are concerned.

And then there is the matter of lies of omission, Marco, you neglected to tell your followers that your canvasser is a known white nationalist, who attended the Charlottesville “Unite the Right Rally and had been charged with assault himself, with a flagpole sporting a confederate flag…

“Monzon has been in the news before.

Back in 2017, the then-22-year-old was arrested at a protest in Hollywood ahead of a city commission meeting over whether to change the name of streets honoring Confederate leaders.
Police accused Monzon, a counter-protester who was wearing a shirt that said “League of the South,” of jabbing a flag, containing a Confederate design, at people.

At the time, he faced charges of aggravated assault, inciting a riot and disorderly conduct.”

Ah, here he is:

Now, assault is never O.K., Marco, I think we can agree on that, but then lying is not OK either, if that is the case here, and a U.S. Senator should have all his facts straight before making a public statement to make sure he is not bearing false witness.

I will be interested to say what ex-police Chief Val Demmings will have to say about this incident.

I believe you are right, Rachel.

Yup

Maybe you should read your Bible a little more thoroughly, Rubio.

  1. Why is it that Republicans (looking at you, Rubio) have to embellish (i.e. LIE) instead of telling what actually happened? Talk about SNOWFLAKES; that fits you and all the rest of the Republicans. Never seen so much whining from grown men….
