I admit to disillusionment. I had hoped that Liz Cheney was under polling in Wyoming. I had hoped that Wyomingites would come to their senses, that the better angels of their natures would prevail. But no, they choose to go to the Dark Side.
I have had a number of dear friends from Wyoming in the course of my life, having been born and raised in Colorado and having gone to college there as well. I met some fine folks who had moved from Wyoming to Colorado because they found Colorado less socially oppressive. I also had a dear friend from a small Wyoming town that I met in Los Angeles. He was gay and that was a no no and he told me that he would have left Johnson County, Wyoming on foot if he had had to. This conversation took place in the late 70’s.
Some of my Wyoming friends mocked their roots and called Wyoming a “backwards shithole.” Today, I lift a glass to my departed friends from Wyoming and I concur with their analysis.

I never agreed with Liz Cheney on a single vote she ever cast, but I wholeheartedly approve of her work on the January 6 Committee.
Here is Trump’s take on what it means.
I feel sorry for Wyoming if this is who they are. People who don’t like the state have called it “a lot of scrub brush and rednecks.” it is that. But again, I would be remiss if I didn’t say how many fine people that I knew from the state in the course of my life. The fine people are outnumbered by the MAGA crazies and that is sad.
There was one Wyomingite that I still was talking to in 2016 and she told me that she and her Democratic friends just ignored the MAGA relatives, kind of an uneasy truce in an armed camp that can blow up at any time; so people try to keep a lid on it.
Elise Stefanik has congratulated Harriet Hageman and a new level of MAGA crazy can now take place in Congress in the Fall. Terrific.
Congresswoman Cheney, we appreciate your sacrifice and we are in your debt.
And don’t count her out. I believe she will rally and as Trump would say, “the best is yet to come.”

No pity, no tears…Liz Cheney would accept neither of these. As I’ve already said, in terms of her ultimate goal, she can’t lose. Now she has no excuse to hold back now and when the time comes, she WILL burn MAGA to the ground. I would cheer for her in the latter scenario but for the fact that she has the same goals but has more effective methods.

Agreed but never forget that they came from the same poison tree. I look for our side to be struggling with her people in a decade’s time or possibly two.
Wyoming is one of our least populated states. In addition to an amazing array of wildlife and open spaces the state in general is one of incredible natural beauty. Sadly, the majority of those who live there are as ugly (as people) as the wondrous scenery and wildlife are beautiful.
As stated, I’ve met some fine folks from Wyoming. And I met nice people when I visited Wyoming. I had no idea this backwards mentality would prevail. And Wyomingites used to deify Dick Cheney. Oh, he was a god. So for this to happen to Liz is doubly shocking.
On Morning Edition one of the pundits mentioned Ms. Cheney was going to be starting not a political party but something to educate voters before they lose the privilege completely. I find it hard to say this since I generally disagree with conservatives on principal, but I hope she succeeds and goes far with this.
That Hageman woman keeps stating how Wyoming’s citizens need someone in Congress who is there for them and I cannot believe those idiots down there bought it. Ms. Cheney has a very long row to hoe in that state; it will be as if she is educating kindergartners.
Given their collective track record on unintended consequences, this will, more than likely, come back to bite frump & his cult in the arse. Just think how much power merrick now holds in his hand over orangebob shitpants & the entire republiklan party. He wouldn’t have that at this moment if he wasn’t screwed out of his supreme court seat. Ms blonde velociraptor is barking a warning to her state & party. I find no reason to doubt her resolve.
