Cards on the table, friends, as always. This is very alarming to me that all of the right-wing loonies are suddenly talking about the assassination of Donald Trump, like it’s a real thing. I’ll tell you why. You know that these people don’t do anything except project their own evil onto others, so I am quite frankly wondering if they don’t have some plan in mind to dispose of Trump themselves.
I do not want to start a conspiracy theory here. That is not what this comment is about. It is about a disturbing pattern that I’m seeing in the right-wing media and amongst Trump’s allies.

I honestly don’t know what to make out of this, but I can’t make anything good out of it. Maybe they would do Trump in and make him a martyr. I didn’t think politics in this country could get that strange, but then I didn’t think somebody like Trump could ever appear on the scene and do what he did, either.
You have to admit, the demise of Trump would serve a lot of purposes:
- Provide a martyr;
- Get him out of the way and clear the path for DeSantis;
- Prevent other embarrassing and/or illegal facts from coming forward and incriminating other Republicans.
We shall sit and watch. It reminds me of the last act of Network. Remember when Howard Beal outlived his usefulness and the powers that be blew him away? He was the only guy ever killed for bad ratings, the announcer intoned at the end. Remember? Trump could be a real life Howard Beal.
Oh, I always knew that they were going to do this kind of number to Trump in the end. A paraphrase from Andrew Vachss’ Hard Candy: they know their gods are angry. It’s just they’re going to need a better sacrifice than a goat.
This is so absurd. He’s protected by USSS. They are not going to let anyone kill him. This is wishful thinking. They need to get rid of him, have failed to take every exit ramp offered and now want someone on our side to take him out. Not gonna happen.
He’s not worth the cost of a round……besides that, why go to prison for the rest of your life when a double Big Mac or KFC chicken leg already has his number???
For offing a president, even an ex-president, I”m pretty sure it’s a capital crime and therefore one that likely would earn the perp a ride on ol’ sparky (or whatever is used now for death sentences). The only way an idiot who would do this would spend their life behind bars is it the death penalty were outlawed. I don’t see THAT happening in this country.
Howard Beale is the wrong Howard. I see Trump becoming another (far less rich) Howard HUGHS – smelly, greasy, disheveled in ratty clothes wasting away and pretty much mentality somewhere between here and the fourth dimension. Which I’m sure would be what would happen if his sorry ass got locked up in some special wing of a federal prison and he was cut off from contact with anyone other than the Secret Service Agents stuck with the shit detail of protecting him.
How dare you insult Howard Hughes, who actually accomplished SOMETHING in his life with Daddy’s money. Elon Musk is a better comparison to Hughes. As to Trump…Caligula comes to mind, particularly how he checked out.
You make an excellent point. Before he devolved Hughes was someone who actually did good things with the advantages he started out with. It’s tragic how he ended up. Trump? He was given so much, none of which he deserves and still has led a shitty life filled with failure after failure.
Why in the fuck would anyone bother? Trump is going down in criminal and civil trials that will be starting soon. He is likely to be behind bars for a very long time and even if he isn’t a guest of our penal system, he is going to be beggared by all the civil actions. He has done enough shit to himself that no one needs to do anything but let him rot. Furthermore, he’s in his 70’s F.F.S. and not anywhere near the best of health-a coronary is pretty damned likely at this point.
Now, would one of his base do something this stupid just so it could be blamed on others? Not impossible but their level of planning and such is really limited to shooting up schools and parades or getting their asses arrested after vandalizing The People’s House. They do not have the native intelligence to get past the SS agents who unfortunately are required to guard the orange lard-ass.
It is both amazing and pathetic how ham-handed Republicans are with their projecting. I had this exact conversation with friends months ago and that was our conclusion as well. “When you hear Republicans suddenly talk about how they are ‘worried’ about Trump being assassinated, that’s how you’ll know they are preparing to take him out.” I’m not surprised by this.
They’ll probably blame it on antifa, just like they do with everything else.
No one thinks he’ll run to Dubai & live with his buddies? He’s too soft & too much of a coward to face jail. He’ll run.
